For this new episode, we welcome an artist who deeply inspires us through the way he crafts his sets. Subtle and immersive sonic journeys, where each transition feels natural, and each texture resonates on a more intimate level. His mixes are an invitation to slow down — an enchantment for both heart and mind, a gradual dive into deep and luminous soundscapes. "This mix was played at Field Maneuvers last summer, as night turned into day in the early morning hours. I observed people drift from the dance floors to the ambient stage, sinking into bean bags and fully unwinding after a full night of dance. It felt super intimate and deeply connecting. I tried to create a semblance of a warm, introspective embrace in this mix, that evolved into a more downtempo soundscape as the first rays of sun hit the ambient stage. It was a very special morning I hold dear." João (sibi-lo) builds sets that move between hypnotic techno, trance, leftfield and ambient. He plays both in club settings and more listening-focused environments, with a strong attention to transitions, textures, and overall flow. His approach is influenced by his interest in sound as a storytelling tool, notably through field recording and his background in anthropology. February brought us an hour of endless blends from @different.shades for SOMNA on @voices_radio — Malaysian-born, London-based selector conjuring the space between shadow and shimmer. IDM mutates into deep dubwise sludge, tech house wafters dissolve into lo-fi power electronics. Nothing lands where you expect it to. It’s 7am. Back of the dance. Spliff lit. Head down. The floor feels like wet moss and sub-bass. A true force within the avant-garde, Different Shades bridges darker psychedelic weight with playful, sparkling mischief. I recently did a mix for @caubxx show @pata_intergalactica on @radiody10 , in which I tried to emulate the plethora of sounds that have been inspiring me lately. This mix drifts through dubstep weight, fractured breakbeats and low end atmospheres — all stretched into something psychedelic and inward-facing. For the first SOMNA mix of the year on @voices_radio , we’re diving deep with jeet @jeepisacar — British-Indian artist from the West Midlands, now based in London. Rooted in low-end psychedelia, sound system culture and devotional music, jeet’s selections are shaped by nature and its subtle sublimities. Drawing from dub, trance, electro, techno and dubstep, his sets melt textures across the spectrum. Having cut his teeth in India’s free party scenes, he’s since returned to London and co-founded @earth._.w0rm_ — an event, mix series and soon-to-be label championing leftfield sound in all its forms. This mix is fully centred around psychedelic texture: sounds both small and vast, built to thump chests and tickle brains. I don’t know if a year really ends in the dead of winter. Everything around us is resting, underground, conserving its breath. The soil is quiet, trees are stripped back to their bones, and time feels less like a line and more like a pause. Maybe that’s why this moment always feels less like closure and more like a soft holding. Which is why I keep thinking: maybe our yearly reflections are misplaced. Maybe the true turning point is not now, in the cold and the dark, but in summer — at the solstice, when everything is in full bloom, when the world is generous with light, when growth is visible and undeniable. That feels like the real accounting. The moment to ask: what have we nurtured? What has flourished? What do we want to carry forward, seeds in our pockets, into the quieter months? So instead of resolutions, I’m sitting with gratitude. For friendships that held me steady. For fleeting connections that still left marks. For collective care, mutual aid, shared meals, shared movement, shared hope. For all the ways we chose each other, even when it was complicated. This isn’t a goodbye to a year. It’s a thank you. And maybe a promise to keep tending — to people, to community, to softness and courage — until the light returns in full 🌀

Rooted in sound as memory and communication, his sets unfold like fluid narratives shaped by texture, percussion, and place. His practice bridges driving rhythmic propulsion with spacious, meditative environments—balancing deep, cerebral immersion with emotional nuance. Across both club and ambient contexts, he crafts sonic journeys that invite listeners into states that feel at once grounded, atmospheric, and deeply transportive.

Brussels this weekend felt incredibly grounding.
