"My work is driven by the exploration of embodied 'otherness' and the fluid boundaries between normality and normativity."
This is how designer and artist @diegograndry describes his work.
"Through visual poetry, I tell narratives that challenge perceptions of identity, difference, and belonging. A recurring theme in my practice is the re-imagination
of the body through technology—deconstructing and reconstructing its form, meaning, and presence in digital space.
This process often involves transporting and manipulating physical objects from popular culture into virtual realities, transforming them into new symbols with re-appropriated meanings."

🌾💥extracts from ‘Feathers in the Fog’, 2024
The movie runs on a analogy between human and non human migrations through the example of a parakeet bird. It looks at the notion of Endemicity, often serving discourse of ‘us’ vs ‘them’.
The movie was made (mis)using Red Dead Redemption 2.
Exhibit BTS N°3 : Focus on Kevin Bray
Before heading to @nuits_sonores , we wanted to share another part of Exhibit.
This project is our way of highlighting the artists behind the scenes.
First up: @bray_kevin , who imagined an exhibition within the show — in collaboration with @diegograndry . Together, they transformed the transitions between each tableau into spaces of their own — an invite to step outside the club.
See you there,
Cheers

A portrait of KABK tutors: Diego Grandry and Kévin Bray
The classroom of the Bachelor's in Interactive Media Design @kabkimd is filled with all kinds of materials and computers. Some students are engaged in – at least seemingly – complex computer programmes, while others are drawing on paper. An outsider wouldn’t be able to guess which study programme this is, and perhaps that’s the essence of IMD.
The teaching duo of Diego Grandry (who completed IMD in 2019) and Kévin Bray sits at the back of the room. They’ve just finished teaching the Emerging Realities class – "That name suits us," says Diego – to first- and second-year students. While the IMD students immerse themselves in their work, Diego and Kévin share insights into their own practices and teaching.
After his studies, Diego worked with famous names such as Balenciaga, Goldband and Hermes. But he prefers to work on autonomous art. He is now busy with is work for @dutchdesignweek . Kévin studied Graphic Design in Roubaix, France and later also completed a master Design at the Sandberg Institute, Amsterdam. His work can now be seen in the @stedelijkmuseum Amsterdam.
