🎂Happy Birthday, Tracy!🎂 Long-time DDA resident, Tracy, celebrated her 61st birthday with friends and staff at Barcelos Flame Grilled Chicken in Vancouver. Loads of people came out and enjoyed good food and good company. The theme was The Great Gatsby, the balloons and hats, and Tracy's dress harkened to another era! The party continues on Saturday with her family. ❤️

Not all heroes wear capes. Some wear the invisible badges of advocacy and tireless effort. This Mother’s Day, we acknowledge the love and dedication of moms of kids with developmental disabilities. Moms whose days are often filled with appointments, paperwork, caregiving, teaching, comforting, and loving in ways the world doesn’t always see. The workload can be immense, and the emotional weight can be heavy. Yet through it all, you continue to show up with strength, patience, resilience, and deep compassion. Your love changes lives. We wish a Happy Mother’s Day Sunday to all the extraordinary moms in our community. 💜 #mom #mothersday #Superheroes #DisabilityAwareness

The 21st Annual Art in the City was held in the West End last week! 🎨 Once again, DDA had over 30 participants and sold more than $1,000 in art to happy art aficionados. A big thanks to Kate and the rest of DDA's art instruction team. And a special thank you to the impressive talent of our wonderful artists! #art #artist #localartists #fridayvibes

May 6th to May 10 is Mental Health Week in Canada.🧠🌈 The reality is, people with developmental disabilities are more likely to suffer from mental health issues. Mental health is often shaped by barriers that others may not see - social isolation, stigma, limited access to supports, and fewer opportunities to be heard. Yet their experiences, emotions, and needs are just as real, valid, and important. So, let's be aware. Let's be understanding. Let's give space and time to those who need it.❤️ #mentalhealth #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthawareness #cometogether #canada

May is officially recognized as Child Care Month in British Columbia, celebrating the essential role of Early Childhood Educators (ECEs), Child Care Providers, and Child and Youth Workers. To those who work for DDA and our colleagues in other organizations, you are the backbone of what we do. The work you do goes far beyond supervision or routine care. You create safe, inclusive spaces where children and youth, especially those with diverse abilities, can be themselves, build confidence, and feel a true sense of belonging. Thank you for your commitment, your compassion, and the care you bring to your roles every day. #childcare #ChildcareCareers #earlychildhoodeducation #earlylearning

DDA recently launched a new public service announcement to foster understanding about the people we support. We had a great time putting it together, thanks to the expertise of our content creator and east cherry media. @eastcherry But have you ever wondered what goes into creating a PSA? From filming on set to a professional photo shoot, DDA’s clients did an amazing job. Easy to work with, fun, and super professional with the process. We’re proud to share who they are. To see the PSA, "What We're Like", go to Linktree in our bio. #seethepersonnotthelabel #inclusion #BehindTheScenesMagic

Over 70 DDA staff, clients, and family took part in this year's Vancouver Sun Run! They laced up and took it to the streets for TEAM DDA! We are super proud of our community and the effort they bring to everything they do. One of our staff members even did the run virtually from Turks and Caicos! #Awesome #sunrun #vancouverbc #CommunityEvent #teamworkmakesthedreamwork

Every year, DDA puts on its Leisure Fair to promote accessible and adaptive sports and activities for children and youth with disabilities. ⚽️🎾🥋 We had a great time connecting with the community, and thanks to the Sunset Community Centre for its support. ⚽️GOOOOOAAAAAAALL! ⚽️ A little #mondaymotivation as we head toward June! Over the weekend, the gang from our Curzon group home in Richmond made into Vancouver to get a glimpse of the coveted FIFA World Cup Trophy that was on tour ahead of the global competition. Vancouver will host seven World Cup 2026 matches at BC Place Stadium starting June 13th. The schedule includes five group stage matches—highlighted by two of Canada's Men's National Team matches. #worldcup #FIFAWorldCup2026

If you’re lucky enough to live in Vancouver, you’ve probably seen digital posters like these around town at one of 40 bus stops and over a dozen billboards. If you spot them in your travels, take a photo, tag us, and share it with the world! Check out our new PSA on our profile, which inspired these awesome posters! #inclusion #seethepersonnotthelabel #community #inthewild #differentlywired
