WORK IN PROGRESS! We had the pleasure to be invited by @circusnext to come to @lagrainerie in Toulouse to work on my project: The Robot Arm Etudes
Together with fellow residents we researched what it means to work with this machine on stage in a loving, caring, sensitive, blind, surprising, useless, and unfathomable fashion.
I would love to spend more time in research and creation, and share that progress with my audience, but it is expensive and complicated. If anyone has suggestions on how I can make more of it happen, I'm all ears.
Big thanks to my collaborators on this project @designpartyprogram and @joisujoisu (who also took these pictures)

First wonky tests at using mediapipe to control a robot arm with my elbow movements. 🤖
In residency at @circusnext in Toulouse @lagrainerie next week with @simu.circus and @designpartyprogram to work on our research for using the Cobot as a performative partner. Looking forward!
Using: #fairino cobot FR5, #mediapipe by @blankensmithing , #touchdesigner @touchdesigner
pov: your touchdesigner crashes 5 minutes before your A/V performance🧍‍♀️(and then we didnt talk about the power drop yet). Even with the chaos this night was insanely good. We did the Mirage concert as part of the V2_live programming at @v2_unstable with the Rotterdam live coders collective and i’m still processing how special it felt. Excited to share more of the process soon
The second edition of V2_ Live is entitled Mirage and features the Rotterdam Live Coders who engage with the shifting dialogue between bodies, machines, and data. Their performances merge live-coded vision and sound into a hypnotic interplay of human presence and machine reflection — a space where agency flickers and perception bends.
Tonight at the second edition of V2_LIVE we present MIRAGE by The Rotterdam Live Coders. đź’Ąđź’Ą
After days of testing, reconfiguring and running hundreds of meters of cables through the space, the outcome of their V2_ Live Residency is ready to be shown. The Live Coders will present their work from 20:00.

On 21/11 we have the second edition of V2_ Live: Mirage, an audiovisual performance where people interact with live-coded music and visuals.
Rotterdam Live Coders create sound and visuals in real time, using movement, gestures, and words from the performers and the audience. Everything that happens influences the system, which then transforms it into sound and image.
Mirage combines music, noise, and visuals to create an immersive experience. Hybrid instruments mix with ambient sounds, electronic beats collide with digital effects, and visuals fill the space, creating a constantly changing performance.
Get your tickets trough the link in our bio!

Thanks for creating this @jeroenjt
Thanks for making it happen @nachtvanontdekkingen
15m in 15 seconds. This was the very first Coboshow experiment tryout at @rietveldtheater Hal015 with @joisujoisu , @designpartyprogram , @simu.circus and it was a big success!
Can a robot be a performance partner? Can it dance, juggle, act, and respond to an audience? What does physical interaction mean with a machine? We're exploring these questions and many more!
We are looking for more performance spaces, residencies, funding, cobot experts, and even a production company for an upcoming theatre show (2027), so let us know if you want to be involved!
Currently we're supported by @robohousedelft , @stimuleringsfonds , @gibasbv , @gemeente.delft and @circusnext , and we've also performed at @nachtvanontdekkingen

I am very proud showing the virtual version of the big Foundscape Orchestra installation me and my team presented in November 2021 in the Drukpershal. You can now also visit it online, and walk around in it, through the link in bio, or by going to foundscapeorchestra.com. It is VR compatible (!) works best on computers, since you can navigate, but we're still working on better phone controls (and it is quite heavy for phones).
With this virtual method, it is now possible to record and save the immersive 360 degree sound compositions on location and re-experience them again digitally in the same way, which was not really possible with a simple stereo recording. Together with the 3D laserscan of the space it approximates the real life experience as much as possible.
Special thanks to Wouter Schuur / Design Party Program, for developing the virtual system with me, and thanks to Sebastian Frisch for helping me with the recording process on site.
Looking forward to hear how you experience it! It is still work in progress, so we will keep on updating it!
