Still trying to figure out if that was a wedding… or a private jungle rave with all of my best friends coming together to celebrate the love of @joshhamilton and @alyssademarco .
Either way, watching their love up close has been one of the most beautiful gifts of my life.
To witness what’s possible when two humans commit to creating a life together is something I hope we all get to experience.
J&A: the depth of how you two show up in the world is so evident with how everyone else shows up around you - and your wedding was a testament to the hat. I’m grateful to call you two some of my closest friends and glad you’re stuck with me for life. Love you both SO much.

One of the most interesting paradoxes in life is that the harder we push for change, the more stuck we often feel, while acceptance of our current situation often leads to the transformation we are looking for.
When we try to force change, we create resistance and tension, focusing on what we lack and becoming rigid in our efforts.
In contrast, acceptance of what is often dissolves resistance and aligns us with life’s more natural flow.
This shift fosters a space that enables change to occur organically and in that flow, we often get to where we wanted to be in the first place.
In a strange way, it is through the full acceptance of what is, mixed with the willingness to keep showing up, that we create the necessary fertile ground for the genuine change we are looking for.

Photo Editing Tips for my photographers… ⬇️⬇️⬇️
Here’s a couple important tips when shooting a subjects and portraits.
Good Lighting 💡
Make sure your photo is well lit when you’re capturing it, because that will give you more detail and color, and greater flexibility while editing. Before you capture your photos, ensure that the lighting lands on the subject where you want your focus to be.
Colour and Tones 🎨
When editing a photo, play around with adjusting the colours and tones using the white balance, tone curve, and color branding to get the style you are looking for. Adjusting the color (or lack of) can give the same photo drastically different feelings.
Masking 👻
Using selective masking to process the photos and make them more dynamic. I usually break the down as followings:
1. Subject: I usually start with my subject and correct things like shadows and exposure.
2. Background: I will usually start by darkening/lightening the background slightly so the subject stands out more.
3. Foreground: I’ll then adjustment the foreground to draw the viewers attention right to the subject. the foreground to bring the viewers attention into my subject.
4. Subject: I’ll then adjust the subject the make it balanced within the set and setting.
5. Highlights/Shadows: To polish it off, I’ll use the brush tool to adjust highlights and shadows. This brings a balance to the overall composition.
6. Glows: Finally, I will use radial and graduated filters to bring a little more dynamic lighting into the show and to make the lit parts pop and the shadows contrast.

Still moments in unforgiving places. @krislovesmountains , @danielrbergson , and I making our way across the 6km long Garabaldi Lake in the dead of winter. Standing in the flatness of the middle of the lake, surrounded by mountains, was a wildly humbling experience.

Photos that “look easy”, but actually involved standing out in on a frozen lake in a snow storm for over 5 hours…
We definitely should have captured more behind the scene for this one.

WAIT FOR THE LAST PHOTO LOL
PS. I really do think he’s the most perfect thing that I’ve ever seen… and he’s not even mine so it must be true.
Taking out @lamarre153 and stephanielamarre_ little dude @its.tuckertime for some snowy adventures in the mountains. And obviously taking photos because that’s what we do.

Capturing beautiful moments of people doing work I deeply believe in and admire at the @enfoldinstitute .
It was a Sunday filled with beautiful humans, deep conversations, and some much-needed community with @jenboshan@d6merit@katiemckenziemvmt .
Grateful for humans like @steverio and @snowhaiku for holding these containers for so many.

Check out the croc in the last slide! 🐊🐊🐊
3 hours scooter rides down windy, bumpy dirt roads. Stopping all along the way with @xa.monika , as we adventures from Tulum down to Punta Allan on the southern tip of the Sian Ka’an Bioreserve.
It wasn’t for the faint of heart, but it’s something I’ll never forget.
Captured these shots of @xa.monika on a little dock, as we took a much needed break from the ride.

A place that feels so alive, it’s no wonder it has a heart right in the middle of it.
Looking down at Minnestimma Lake, as @seeking.summits and I descended from a summit push up Mount Temple.

If you don’t believe dogs have souls, you just haven’t looked into their eyes for long enough.
Shot this doggo named Hana at Lavender and Black Farm on Salt Spring Island earlier this year.

If these mountains could speak, would they whisper tales older than the stars?
Each rugged peak and deep valley holding countless stories of death and re-birth, etched into their timeless faces by the winds of centuries.
They have stood as silent witnesses to the relentless march of time.
They have seen the unspoken history of the earth, our home, from the dance of ancient glaciers to the silent growth of towering forests.
They stand as custodians of time, bearing secrets of a world that existed long before our own.
In their stillness, they offer a glimpse into the eternal rhythm of nature.
