Happy Friendship Friday Fam, I’m still on a high from this past weekend. On Sunday, May 3rd, at @lavanmidtown in NYC, ahead of the Fashion Industry’s biggest night, my Beauty Brother @derickmonroe hosted his annual (@behindthescenesbeauty1 ) 2026 Gala & Awards Ceremony. The evening was all about celebrating the creatives behind the scenes who help shape the worlds of Beauty, Fashion, Television, and Culture. Words truly cannot express my gratitude for being honored with the Trailblazer Artistry in Beauty Award. Alongside me were five incredible honorees: Celebrity Hairstylist @ursulastephen , Carol’s Daughter Founder @iamlisaprice , Oscar-winning Costume Designer @paultazewell , and Political Commentator & Television Host @joyannreid . To be recognized in such amazing company was deeply humbling. From the moment you walked through the doors, you were greeted with an outpouring of love. The guest list read like a true Who’s Who of the Beauty, Fashion, and Entertainment industries. Those who know me know that if I could have, I would’ve invited the entire country to celebrate with me! Unfortunately, we were limited on guests, but I’m so thankful to all of my friends who understood my dilemma and still sent me so much love and encouragement. Your support meant the world to me. It was also incredibly heartwarming to have some of my dear friends there to share in this monumental occasion. A Love Letter to the Man in the Mirror❤️ FAMILY,  Today I turn 65 🎂 And what I Know for sure… is that Time has been good to me. Not because it Spared Me — But because it Shaped Me. Life has Touched me deeply. It has Bruised Me. It has Blessed Me. It has Taken from Me. And it has Given Back in ways I NEVER Expected!!!! Life will Break your Heart sometimes. It will Humble You. It will Stretch You beyond what you Think you can bear. You will Lose Things. You will Lose People. You will even Lose Yourself for a little while. BUT if you are willing….. Life will also Remake You!!! I have Felt the Sting of Silence. The Weight of Disappointment. The Ache of Letting Go. And Still........ I RISE !!! There is something Magnetic about a Man who has Survived himself. About a Man who No longer needs Permission to Shine. At 65, I Move Differently, I No Longer Chase Validation!!!! I choose Peace. I choose Joy. I choose Authenticity. I choose ME. I Love the man who Survived the Storms. I Love the man who Learned to Forgive. I Love the man who Kept his Heart Open when it would have been easier to Close it. I Still have a Lust for Life. I Still believe in Possibility. I Still Crave Joy. I Still Believe in Passion. I Still Wake Up Expecting something Beautiful. I Love differently. I See differently. I am not Chasing Anything. I am Attracting what is Aligned. I Wear my Years like a Tailored Suit — Fitted with Wisdom, Lined with Gratitude, Cut from Resilience. And You should know...... I Deeply LOVE the man Looking Back at Me. Sixty-five is Not Aging!!!!
