Several people were wounded -- at least one critically -- in a shooting spree across multiple locations in Prince George’s County Friday afternoon, authorities say.
Chopper4 video shows police responses at locations in Riverdale and College Park. A Chevrolet Impala could be seen flipped upside down at 67th Avenue and Patterson Street in Riverdale.
Two witnesses told News4 the Impala driver was speeding, hit a car and flipped. They said they saw a man get out of the car with a long gun, start firing and run. Shell casings could be seen in the roadway.
Police were able to stop the man a mere 10 to 15 minutes after they first became aware of his actions, in part due to the help from the community.

The Justice Department will seek the death penalty for the man accused of fatally shooting two staff members of the Israeli Embassy in Washington outside a Jewish museum, prosecutors said in a court filing Friday.
Elias Rodriguez faces federal hate crime and murder charges in the killings of Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim as they left an event at the museum last May. Rodriguez shouted “Free Palestine” during the shooting and later told police, “I did it for Palestine, I did it for Gaza,” according to his indictment.
The charges against Rodriguez include a hate crime resulting in death. The indictment also includes notice of special findings, which allows prosecutors to pursue the death penalty.

Developing: Someone was hit by a Metro train after officials believe they accidentally fell onto the tracks Friday afternoon in Northeast D.C.
The person fell onto the tracks at the Rhode Island Avenue station and was hit by a Red Line train at about noon, Metro said. Crews rescued the victim and rushed them to a hospital while conscious and breathing.
Metro said they believe the person accidentally fell and did not immediately provide additional information on the circumstances.
News4 images show a major emergency response.
Trains bypassed the station, ran on a single track with delays in both directions and later resumed regular service.

Amigos, the Laurel restaurant that was shut down after a sprawling Cinco de Mayo party ended with a triple shooting and a stabbing out in the parking lot, has announced that it's reopening.
Police said the celebration May 5 had gotten out of control.
The closure came because of alleged permit violations related to security and other issues. The city of Laurel said the restaurant was out of compliance. Now the city and the restaurant have come to an agreement.
The city of Laurel suspended Amigos' operating permit May 8, temporarily shutting down the popular Mexican restaurant. Patrons posted on social media they were inside Amigos eating when it was shut down May 8 and they were forced to leave.

As the co-founder of CommuniKids preschool in D.C., Jeannine Piacenza knows how hard it is to compete for the most qualified childcare workers. She says that job became significantly easier four years ago, when D.C. launched a program to boost salaries for those workers across the District.
“It has helped us attract high-quality teachers. It has helped us retain high-quality teachers,” she said of D.C.’s Early Childhood Educator Pay Equity Fund, which provides anywhere from about $7,200 to $25,000 in subsidies for thousands of fulltime childcare workers, depending on their salary and educational level.
“If we have to pay them lower salaries, they'll leave us and go to the public school,” Piacenza added.
But now the program is on the chopping block as Mayor Muriel Bowser – citing tough economic headwinds – seeks to close a $1.1 billion budget gap. In an April budget hearing, Bowser called it a “laudable program” but said “it does not respond to what people are saying: We want more quality spots and want them to be more places and want it to be less expensive.”
The proposed cuts come in a year D.C. is ramping up spending on marquee sports projects, a financial decision that didn’t escape Piacenza’s attention. She said if the pay equity fund is slashed, she’ll lose teachers, have to raise tuition rates or reduce the number of children she can serve.
