Disposables and digis from the last Trespassing at Huis Marseille đč It was my favorite version of Cold Line so far, thank you @_puckvdwerf@humie___p for having me đ€
Cold Line is the first object of the triad âTools of Abject Empathyâ.
Designed as an evocative object inspired by landline eavesdropping, the work explores the isolating nature of tools of intimacy. Presenting two telephones that have become autonomous, that neither ring nor can be dialled, Cold Line imagines an intimacy abstracted through a tool that has moved into this tool and now exists beyond its persons.
A phone line that roams freely by its own will between connections and conversations, where the only seat to take is that of the intruder.
âI am a good intention split into fragmentsâ
From the soundwalk âCorrectionsâ @un_mateo_ and I created for the second edition of Trespassing at Rijksmuseum, curated by @_puckvdwerf and Charles Pas
âPlaying with the form and tropes of a museum audio guide, Corrections subverts traditional notions of authority and offers a surreal guided walk through the Rijksmuseumâs Gallery of Honour, in which disembodied narrators open the gates for affects destabilizing of the distance these spaces require.â
It was great to have the opportunity to experiment along with these amazing talented people!
Join us at Eye Filmmuseum on February 13th, where we will be showing Room Tone along with other amazing films as part of âShadowplayâ

Against the backdrop of ongoing industry reckonings, Room Tone traces a brief exchange between an actress and a makeup artist, as abuse of power is enabled in passing.
A Place in the Middle was conceived at a morning concert at the Oude Kerk. While watching people weâd only seen on nights out before, sprawled on the floor, listening to experimental noise at 8am.
We got talking about how impossible this would have been a decade or two ago, about how living bodies can negotiate what is, quite literally, set in stone.
Then what happens when monuments are no longer untouchable? A Place in the Middle circles around this question. The result is a short documentary on 16mm, finally complete and entering the festival circuit very soon.
I am infinitely grateful to all the insanely talented people who made this film possible, to @afk020 for their support, and to Dr. Dorita Hannah for her generous mentorship.
