Based in the North of England, @neurotrancer_ is a DJ and producer exploring the hypnotic fringes of techno. With recent releases on @_area127_ and @aurora_rec alongside a series of online radio episodes, his output carves a path marked with elements of abstract techno, degraded textures and IDM-informed structures. Favouring long subtle blends, his mixes offer an engaging guide through intricate rhythms, processed found sound and introspectionism. DSS 132: 🔗link in BIO🔗

The man… the myth… the legend @giorgio_gigli hasn’t released a podcast in 10 years (!) — so having the exclusive premiere for our 131st installment makes us absolutely ecstatic! Giorgio delivers a mind-tingling vinyl session crafted for true deep techno headz. The Italian master of hynpotic techno Giorgio Gigli is a deeply feeling artist, someone whose inner world bleeds naturally into his sound. His music moves through real-life moments—romantic, heavy, sometimes fragile, sometimes unexpectedly warm. His signature sound feels like sudden light breaking through a grey, overcast sky—intimate, honest, unmistakably his. Whether telling his own story or channeling the music of others, he transforms every set into something personal. For this vinyl recording, two Technics 1200 MK7 turntables and a Varia Instruments RDM20 mixer were used. Giorgio has released on @outis.music @zooloft_rec @planetrhythmrecords Electric Deluxe and many many other quality labels. 🔗link to Giorgio’s DSS in BIO🔗 Play it loud or don’t play it at all! <3

For @sciamamusic music is all about creating a world in which the listener can explore the many facets of human emotion - a journey inward that uncovers both the light and dark within us. Melding elements of UK bass music, experimental sound design, and the grey area between techno and drum & bass, Sciama’s work offers a dynamic and immersive experience. Released across respected labels like @samurai_music @ooda_music A Walking Contradiction and Auxiliary, each project showcases intricate layers of textured rhythms, deep atmospheres, and cerebral beats that invite introspection and self-discovery. Sciama: A shadowy, rolling journey through weighty bass pressure, cavernous drum & bass, and more intricate, tripped-out moments. It unfolds gradually, drawing you steadily deeper into its dense, psychedelic haze. 🔗 Find Sciama’s DSS session in the link in bio 🔗 🌀

DSS 129 presented by @sookie.sarah Sookie is a Brussels-based DJ and selector known for her deep, emotional, and unpredictable sets that draw from the city’s rich digger culture. Always hunting for hidden gems and surprising transitions, she blends forgotten records with contemporary sounds to create journeys that are both uplifting and immersive on the dancefloor. Sookie: For this mix I made a selection of chill out tracks that I love. Looking back, chill out music acted as a sort of gateway for me to electronic music in general, and moreover, to the specific 90’s melting pot of trance, techno, ambient, dub, acid… It was a good friend who basically force-fed me this kind of spaced out music and he kind of rewired my brain while doing that (and I will be forever thankful that he did!). I love doing this kind of mixes because they always happens intuitive and spontaneous. I find this music super soothing and a great form of much needed escapism from this world. It’s music to listen to with headphones and with your eyes closed to just lose yourself floating in space… P.S.: bring back the chill-out room! 🔗link to Sookie’s DSS session in BIO🔗 📸 by @jente.waerzeggers 🌀

DSS 127 by one of the pillars of the french mental scene: Paul Rêve explores the boundaries of today’s electronic music by developing an emotional dialogue between ambient and dance music. By releasing music on record labels such as @virtualforestrecords Blue Night Jungle, and @meliferarecords he stands out as one of the distinct voices of the French mental scene, blending introspection with primal energy. As co-founder of the record label and collective @polen_sound he embraces a sensitive and handcrafted approach to music production, grounded in careful listening to the natural living. Paul: I usually don’t share recordings from my live shows, because I believe the magic of a moment can’t truly be experienced outside of its context. A dancefloor, a crowd, a specific time and place... these elements can’t be fully captured in a home listening environment. But this mix is special to me. It’s a recording of my very first show at Le Sucre in Lyon, my hometown. The club is equipped with a custom-built Meyer Sound system that sounds incredible, and that night everything came together perfectly: a packed venue, a vibrant crowd, and a powerful energy on the dancefloor. By sharing this mix, I want to preserve that memory and let it live on beyond that night. 🔗link in bio🔗 🌀🌀🌀

@_aedis delivers a seamless and expertly crafted transition from dub techno into a more psychedelic and trippy style of techno for DSS 126. David Iriarte is the name behind Aedis, hailing from Barcelona and currently based in Amsterdam. This project finds the artist diving deeper into a sound he’s been shaping over time, refining its identity through subtle evolution and focus. The project leans into an off-centre dance sound — deep, dub-tin-ged, and anchored in groove and movement. It builds on techno’s pulse and minimal structure, keeping the rhythm upfront while letting small shifts and textures do the talking. The producer and mind behind his other shared alias, @_iroaka_ Iriarte is no stranger to the exploration of ambiance & rhythmic play: the duo released a trilogy of records on John Talabot’s label @hiverndiscs between 2020 & 2023, and a closing trilogy is coming on 2025. His productions go from the first solo EP called ‘Zevar’, out on Hylke’s @spectral.bounce (One Eye Witness), ‘Saense’ released on Kia’s label, @animalialabel some self-released works on Bandcamp, among others. His releases traverses the deeper territories of tech house before conjuring up mystic 2-step and delving into rolling techno. The sense of spaciousness throughout the EP’s is vivid, perpetually unfolding modulated delays; cavernous reverb; weighty, grounding sub frequencies. This expanse is punctuated by fragmentary voices, psychedelic refrains, intricate break deployment and thudding bass tones. 🔗 link in bio 🔗 🏄‍♂️🏄‍♂️🏄‍♂️

For our 124th DSS session we have invited @mogus___dj , a dynamic DJ and curator based in Antwerp, Belgium. Together with @t.a.m.22_davy he runs the Berlin-based explorative label @futurepast____ Mogus’ sound is a mesmerizing fusion of convention and experimentation, painting vivid soundscapes across various genres. Mogus about the mix: When I began preparing for this mix, I had a number of ideas and concepts I wanted to explore. However, I soon realised that these notions didn’t quite fit together naturally in the context of a mix. So, I decided to start with a selection of tracks I was keen to include, using these as my foundation. What followed was a meandering process, where calmness and intensity alternated and guided my choices. The mix developed organically, drifting gently at times and then surging with unexpected energy, as if searching for its own direction. Interestingly, as the mixing process unfolded, none of those original tracks ended up making it into the final mix—instead, I was drawn to other tracks from those same records, letting the flow dictate the journey. 🔗 link in bio Or here: /2t6jcsz3
