Simon Davey has been shaping the sound of Futurepast since day one. Back in 2017, at the very beginning of the label, Davy made the 3.5-hour journey from London to Devon to sit in on the mastering and cutting of the first EP, a moment that set the tone for everything that followed. Since then, Simon has remained a constant: deep knowledge, sharp ears, and genuine care for the craft. A thank you for the work, the dedication, and the sound over the years. @t.a.m.22_davy released his first record on Futurepast in 2018 under his own name. He has now announced his first full EP under the T.A.M.22 alias. His later years in Berlin were strongly focused on production, shaping the approach behind this project. This footage captures the moment the B1 track (TAM-CX04) was recorded in the Berlin studio where he was working. The project is built around a reduced setup: Jomox Alphabase, one synthesizer per track, and a one-take recording approach, each track capturing a specific moment in time. This evenings’ Kiosk show will be a contribution from DJ BONEY S. The belgian Berlin-based DJ shares a 1h recording from the opening set they played on SLUGS, concept they started with their partner. The mix is filled with tracks that didn’t have the chance to be played before. It was a warm-up for a technoid night so for DJ BONEY S, it felt like dipping their toe in successfully undiscovered, freaky waters. This hour is a vinyl-only timetravel, inviting you to move on acid-infused, playful darkness, and leaving you with a rough feeling of retro-nostalgia.
