Yesterday was the OMBC Chaunceys Challenge mtb race at Baileys Trail System in Athens, Oh. I felt pretty good from the start and just eased into my effort. Finished better than I thought was possible getting 1st in single speed and 2nd overall out of all expert/pro classes (pic of combined podium). It was a VERY hot and humid race but a course that is fun and flowy. Had a blast racing and hanging out with everyone. The end was really fun just trying to hold off Jeff, Josh, and, Ross. 50 miles of racing on basically all singletrack. This was a preview for what may become a new venue for the National Ultra Endurance Mountain Bike Race Series next year with the plan to have a total of 88 miles of all single track completed by then!

Yesterday myself and 2 friends.. all on single speeds, drove down to Hyden, KY together to take on War Daddy.. "Kentuckys hardest bike race". We wanted to just have fun but talked about how cool it would be if could pull off a podium sweep in the ss class and it happened! I ended up with first, Logan 2nd and Yianni 3rd. A great day! I broke a boa dial in my shoe early in the race leaving me riding with a loose shoe but thankfully that was the only real issue all race. Some of the ending trail miles of the course were cut out because of prior days rain but it was still a very tough and fun course. Basically 60 miles with 6k climbing. This was my first time being able to make it back to this race since 2019 and I'll definitely be back again. Looking forward to the next one. Thanks to John and the whole @trail_sick crew for putting on a great event all around!
