If you grew up doing messenger work or riding track bikes starting around the early 2000s there was a handful of companies that went hand in hand with the job, one of the most ubiquitous of which is @origin8cycling Affordable, durable and available at damn near any bike shop worth its salt. Going as far back in my personal history as one work day when I stripped the threads on a hand me down stem and ended up getting a painfully shiny chrome stem, and pedals for my work bike. Quickly followed by a fork, and seat post in the coming week, the O8 symbol a point of pride as I updated my components on my otherwise stock build.
