Our cinematographer Jack Thompson-Roylance was featured in British Cinematographer, breaking down the visual language of Son of the Soil, from shooting on the streets of Lagos to building a gritty, immersive action style rooted in realism.
A deep dive into the craft, the choices, and the energy that shaped the film’s look.

On set rehearsals for our dancers scene in Imogen Heap’s latest music video ‘I AM_’
Directors @deadbeatboris and @dariakorsak wanted to create a vortex effect, in the centre of a dark void-like environment, with two abstract figures dancing together, as the camera spins around them in a super fast 360 track.
They are fragmented AI memories of
humanity seen through the eyes of /MOGEN, a digital version of Imogen.
In conversations with our DP @deadbeatjack , we worked with @thegripcompany and their ingenious orbital rig. Marrying the grip movement together alongside rigorous rehearsals with our dancers @jfkudra and @ewebzell choreographed by @jacobjonasthecompany , we think the result came out super well!
