"To recognize and celebrate the achievement of the
@CityOfNOLA hosting the first Black beer festival in the state of Louisiana.
WHEREAS, the craft beer industry has experienced remarkable innovation, and Black American brewers have emerged as talented artisans, cultural bearers, philanthropist, and STEM proprietors creating exceptional brews to showcase their legacy, communcity, creativity, and fellowship; and
WHEREAS, on Saturday, April 18th, 2026, Day Bracey and business associates hosted the inagural
@BarrelsOnTheBayou in New Orleans, Louisiana at the historic Gallier Hall and Lafayette Square with guests, including notable business owners, patrons, stakeholders, local and state legislators, and notable dignitaries; and
WHEREAS, throughtout history, Black Americans have made significant contributions to the culture, economy, and social fabric of our state, and have played an integral role in shaping the brewing industry in Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, Barrels on the Bayou became the first Black owned and operated beer festival to be hosted in the state of Louisiana since it was established in 1718.
WHEREAS, celebrating this occasion will encourage individuals and communities to discover and appreciate the exceptional craftmanship and economic opportunities that exist for Black Brewership in the United States."
