As we eagerly anticipate our vivacious and exploratory proceedings this weekend in honor of the Sweet Abyss 3 Year Anniversary, we’d like to highlight some of the wonderful folks coming together to make our Friday Night festivities at Wood Street Galleries an all-encompassing sensorial experience.
We are thrilled to team up once again with TLC LIBATIONS - PA’s first Black women owned distillery, providing hand-crafted libations with premium ingredients. TLC is a community staple and has been a longtime supporter of the Sweet Abyss family (& vice versa), including moonlighting as an occasional venue for our performances and providing beverages at last year’s Splish Splash pride bonanza.
Does the wide range of artistic expression on display have you feeling hungry? We’ll have food on site by MANDUHANDU! Well known for their pop-ups around town, they will be offering delicious, fresh & focused Korean food for your indulgence - all vegan and gluten-free!
“What would the music be without sound?” We won’t have to worry as humble and beloved superstar Ben a.k.a. LIFTGATE will be providing sound for the evening’s performances. From his buoyant original productions, sharing his deep aural and technical knowledge as part of the Tech25 crew, and his tireless work providing sound setups for the more sonically adventurous and DIY dance music functions of the greater Pittsburgh region, it’s only right that Ben takes the wheel for us Friday night
Lastly, our very own MISS CARRIE SOURS will handle hostess duties on Friday, helping us all transition sonically throughout the evening with her signature tastefully acerbic banter and *coughing and wheezing sounds* dulcet tones. Come see our Mistrexx of Ceremonies dazzle, wow and move the crowd…
