This is my newest LEGO creation, Transcendent Shout.
A figure shouts with swirls of color. emanating with power. The build has around 7,000 pieces and uses every color of quarter-circle tile that exists (except for metallic).
“Transcendent Shout” is a further exploration of the stacked LEGO mosaic technique I developed in “Rainbow Heart” from 2021, pushing the technique to approach not just color blocking or blending, but actually painting with color.
The technique uses quarter-circle tiles placed on top of a second grayscale mosaic underlayer to increase the resolution of a 1x1 stud. This better represents organic shapes and allows for more detail in a smaller mosaic than would be needed to achieve the same effect using only 1x1 studs.

My Rainbow Heart mosaic could actually become a real LEGO set! There are only two days left to vote for it and submit a comment on BrickLink (link in bio).
I noticed that many competing submissions didn't have much color and thought this double-layer mosaic technique would be an excellent way to brighten things up.
The secret to getting so much detail in a small space is that there are actually two LEGO mosaics in this. The under-layer is made of greyscale plates, kind of like a giant QR code so that a little of each greyscale color peeks out from behind each quarter-circle tile.
It ends up being an optical illusion that blends colors and makes smoother shapes possible compared to using 1x1 round plates or tiles.

This is my newest LEGO creation, Rainbow Heart.
Rays of color burst out from a pulsing rainbow heart, celebrating creativity and diversity. The build has around 4,500 pieces, uses every color of quarter circle tile that exists except for metallic), and was greatly aided by the LEGO DOTS product line.
I built this for LGBT+ Pride Month for the @gayfols Pride Parade and for @trickybricks and @tipsandbricks Rainbow Build Challenge.
"Rainbow Heart" is an exploration of a new LEGO mosaic technique I developed using quarter-circle tiles placed on top of a second grayscale mosaic underlayer. This technique accomplishes two goals: 1) The curved tiles can be used to better represent organic shapes, and 2) the grayscale underlayer shows through the negative space where the quarter circle tile does not cover.
This essentially increases the resolution of a 1x1 “pixel” of a LEGO stud in a mosaic allowing for smoother color blending and smaller mosaics than would be needed to achieve the same effect using only 1x1 studs. The quarter-circle tiles can also be rotated into the four different corners of each pixel, increasing the color availability exponentially.
