Dave Britto

It's been a pleasure Rolling Stone India. In July 2016 I joined @rollingstonein as a fresh-faced journalism graduate. Although I was fairly acquainted with the country's music scene, I stank as a writer at first. But while learning on the job and having a great team to imbibe from, I was able to get better with time. Since then, I've had the honour of interviewing some of my favorite international acts, including my all-time favorite band Foo Fighters, cover India's music scene quite extensively from writing about local artists to reviewing gigs and festivals across the country, travelling a bunch for press junkets as well as meeting and forming relationships with some brilliant people over the years.  As I wind up my last month at RS, the last eight years have been like a movie ('Almost Famous' like?), but like all good things, it must come to an end. As I depart RS, I'd like to thank the entire RS fam who've been there before my time, came and went during my time and are currently there going into the future. Two individuals in particular I'd like to thank: @nirmika for being a stellar leader, mentor and guide through thick and thin as well as @anuragtagat without whom I wouldn't have had my internship at RS and from whom I have learned a lot and who in my opinion is the GOAT of Indian music journalism.  This doesn't mean I'll stop writing about indie music, I'll post about music I dig over at @writingears whenever I can. What a tremendous season it’s been for Live at the Warehouse S25/26 at @g5a.culture . Four special nights, eight incredible acts and countless moments that reminded us why live music matters. These nights easily became my favourite desk days of the season.
