I gave birth on March 10 to the most beautiful bouncing baby boy. Rocky Eden Malina Silver is now 3 months old! Named for my father Russ, Rocky is strong with a great sense of humor. Big sister Minna Bea has been taking her sisterly duties verrrry seriously. And @jonny_ag is the absolute best Dad!! It’s been a magical, beautiful, and wild time! ❤️❤️❤️
Last week was challenging in the micro and the macro but I was grateful to be in tech for @lazy_ladyhood Amanda Horowitz’s play Heavenly Fools at @mgsarutgers Rutgers University!
Today is the opening night of the opera I’m directing. It’s also my father’s yahrzeit—it’s been one year since his death. It’s a funny day and I wish he was here right now. Throughout this process I’ve been thinking a lot about how I’m like him and how he led projects as an engineer and manager. I’m still in denial that he’s gone. I wish he was here to see this. I’m excited that it’s opening night and I like thinking that he’s been watching. I think he really would have liked this one. ❤️
Reflecting on the immense experience that was the Clubbed Thumb New Play Directing Fellowship which finished up last month. It was a beautiful and challenging and rewarding experience in so many ways that I will continue to hold and unpack. Grateful to be in community with @justkedian and @_nemuna_ , to have been mentored and guided by @annekauffmanfromphoenixaz & Lila Neugebauer, Maria & Michael at @clubbethumb . And to have been in development on COACH COACH with @buffalobailey since August, aided by our student and recent college alumni collaborators from the fall, and with our incredible company in January #cindycheung, @katelemonkate , @zuzannawanda , @purvabedi , @erin_markey , @actorlish ❤️❤️❤️

I'm directing a production of Annie Baker's The Antipodes at Ramapo College of New Jersey. It's been a pleasure working with students at the school where I am also teaching a Theatre Directing class.
This project has been an exploration into the monstrous and the dangers of a writers' room working towards one single story devoid of the multiplicity and complexity around spectrums of identity and anti-racist and feminist approaches to storytelling. We've had profound conversations around the dynamics of this hierarchical creative space and inherited structures with mythic figures in which we all participate. I'm excited to share this with the Ramapo College community and friends and colleagues.
If you're inspired to have a day trip to Mahwah, NJ, I'd love to see you at the theater.
May I suggest apple picking and/or a fall hike followed by a show? It's really beautiful here. Ramapo College is situated close to Harriman State Park right on the NY/NJ border.
