Out in the world today from @matadorrecords . New album from a New band @thehardquartet . @theheavyjamz@dr_faustroll@jimwhitedrums@stephenmalkmus formed a very special new group, and the making of this record was nothing short of exactly that. From being the final sessions at Strange Weather in brooklyn , recording more tracks at the infamous Shangri La in Malibu , to being the first music mixed in our new studio @soundwork_intl .seems to have had many milestones along the way.. so thrilled I was able to be a part of this one with these amazing musicians and friends. Major shout outs to @greggnwhite@gdeblock & @garciagarcon75 for major lifting along the way!
@danieljschlett is known to many for his old Brooklyn studio, Strange Weather. When the studio closed (thanks, condo developers) he sought out a new spot and ended up in the East Village of Manhattan with @gdeblock , @garciagarcon75 , and a 5060 Centerpiece at @soundwork_intl . Congratulations on the new spot, Daniel! 🎉

Got to spend the first week in our new studio mixing and really learning the new space! What a blast ! Much more to come on all the techy fun stuff. But for now I’d just like to thank @gdeblock and @garciagarcon75 for all the HEAVY lifting and dedication. Still beaming over the incredible experience of recording at #shangrilastudio for the last few weeks. Here’s some gear shots from what felt like working in an interactive museum of audio gear. Shout outs and huge thank you to @pmcspeakers_pro for hooking up the amazing 6-2 monitors, @telefunken_mics for one of the best u47s I’ve ever heard, @thisisapiaudio for making an awesome console in the 1970s that works and sounds exactly like your current consoles, and @greggnwhite for making the experience so wonderful and pleasant :)
Summer is flying by! Really appreciate everyone who reached out “post-SW” to check in… but things have been really great … enjoying working out of so many great studios , and eating lots of ice cream… here’s a bunch of photos from the last month or so! 🙃 hope everyone is staying cool in the heat! 💜
