We’re excited to celebrate the opening of Horror at Sprüth Magers Los Angeles, an intergenerational exhibition curated by Jill Mulleady that dives into the aesthetics of fear, distortion, and the abject. Drawing from the long cultural history of horror, the show brings together artists who confront the body, memory, and collective anxiety through sculpture, film, performance, painting, and sound. . To mark the occasion, we’ve made limited-edition HORROR TLS shirts - available now on our site, with a limited number also dropping tonight at the opening. Nov 20th 6-8pm. Pull up early. It’s difficult to know where to start when talking about something so close to the heart. We started working on this book a little over two years ago and when it first came up I didn’t know where to start. Noah’s world looked a lot different than it did when we worked side by side on his first book back in 2009 in my garage / studio. Noah’s paintings were touring the world, they were in the Venice Biennale, and he had his first major NY show at @davidzwirner . . I had met kids in NY that discovered Noah’s story after he had passed (which is its own kind special reality). His bright energy was so big that it was continuing to build and burn and effect those that were fortunate to cross paths with it. I thought about how so many of those kids were seeing his work for the first time and how much depth the paintings have.  How each painting is layered both technically and conceptually and if there was a way to bring that to people that have never seen the paintings in person. How can we be the Shepards of Noah’s energy and keep it intimate like the garage days? . “In Detail” is for those that never had a chance to meet Noah. For those that haven’t had an opportunity to be in the presence of one of his paintings. It’s also for those that are close and want to feel closer like I do. . This book wouldn’t have happened without Anne Wehr who is an absolute force and continued to push this forward despite all the hurdles. To Helen, for always believing in a higher power and always, always believing in Noah. Karon, for being the rock and Lindsay, for being so diligent about getting the timeline and facts right and for alway’s doing what’s best for Noah. Lastly, Andrew for being in the trenches and continuing to be my ride or die.  .  For Noah
