Every piece on Spirit Echo started with this synth. Really thankful to @highzerofoundation for introducing me to Charles Cohen. Seeing how expansive his sound could be with a singular instrument encouraged me to take the plunge with my first modular, the @makenoisemusic Shared System. I’ve always had a bit of conflict with the consumerism surrounding eurorack culture, but it’s been so rewarding to be on this journey of sound, composition, and exploration with such a personal instrument.
“Perfect Blue” was the other piece I wrote immediately following my mother’s passing. It’s my eulogy to her - a wordless expression of all the things I wasn’t able to tell her. We never spoke the same language, but her actions never needed translation.
It’s a bit over two years since, but it still hits just as hard. Thank you for everything. I love you.

“Chimera,” the third single from “Spirit Echo,” is out today.
“Chimera" is one of two songs I wrote immediately following my mother's passing. Being faced with insurmountable anger, pain, and confusion, I once again turned to music for contemplation, reflection, and release. A lot of "Spirit Echo" was me fighting against myself, refusing to follow paths I'd walked before. With "Chimera," I couldn't fight. I had to let go. The slow burn, the building tension, the disparate voices fighting to be heard and refusing to back down - "Chimera" is the manifestation of that catharsis.
