Cuff Studio presents: WITHIN. A collection Rooted in Confidence, Craft and Exploration. The Within collection was born from a place of deep self-assurance -- an understanding that curiosity, risk, and exploration leads to the most profound creative satisfaction. It is a reflection of our journey, our instincts, and our trust in the design process. In developing the new collection, we examine historic references, the meticulous consideration of details and innovative materiality. This is our most ambitious collection to date, a culmination of our years in design, our evolution as a studio, and our unwavering commitment to pushing boundaries. Thank you to @archdigestpro @archdigest for announcing today! Showcased now at our Melrose Hill gallery, and on our website at . Introducing Petal Promenade by Cuff Studio, a California-based, female-led design studio. Inspired by their Manhattan Flower District showroom, the collection reflects a thoughtful dialogue between the classicism of 20th-century decorative arts and a modern point of view. Referencing Paul Poiret, Pierre Chareau, and Ellsworth Kelly, each piece is brought to life in iconic Scalamandré fabrics—an expressive interplay of form, color, and pattern infused with the energy of New York City. Discover the collection and meet principals Kristi Bender and Wendy Schwartz at ICFF, May 17–19, 2026, Booth #W1048. Photo: Shawn Kallio

Fall into the Block Daybed by Cuff Studio. This sculptural piece balances luxury and practicality, invites quiet rest or lingering conversation. Its softened geometry is paired with two relaxed loose cushions — a versatile piece suited to a dressing room, den, living room or library. The base is offered in all oak finishes, natural walnut, lacquer and as shown in a true favorite — mappa burl. Be on the lookout for a HONEY MAPPA BURL finish soon to be added to the finish library, debuting with ‘Petal Promenade’ in a few days on a brand new side table with storage — great bedside or as part of a lounge room scheme. Shop “Seating” on for the Block Daybed and other sit test approved pieces.

Dear Design Enthusiasts, We cordially invite you to PETAL PROMENADE in New York City. With love, Wendy + Kristi === A nod to Cuff Studio’s shared showroom in Manhattan’s Flower District, the new collection draws on the classicism of 20th-century decorative arts, reimagined through a distinctly modern lens. ‘Petal Promendade’ is where form, color, pattern, and composition echo the energy of the city. From founder Kristi Bender, “Intoxicating! Think late afternoon — a reflective moment, a song at the piano, a list of things to catch up on with a friend and a cocktail — in a New York apartment. Rich, joyful, lavish, sophisticated and meandering.” Founder Wendy Schwartz adds, ‘Petal Promenade,’ the collection and the presentation at NYCxDESIGN, will be a meandering pathway of pieces — rooted in design history, but embracing a forward lens. We eagerly anticipate the latest offerings will become Cuff Studio’s new classics.” To schedule a visit with founders Kristi and Wendy, please visit the link in Bio. Media inquiries @nescreative_ . May 17-19, 2026 Javits Center, New York Booth #W1048 Not in New York? Visit our Website on Sunday, May 17 to view the full collection. Cuff Studio showcases the enduring beauty of lacquer at NYCxDESIGN 2026. DESIGN INFLUENCE: LACQUER. In 2025 Cuff Studio re-introduced the Fold Screen in ebony piano lacquer - this luminous combination inspired novel and iterative silhouettes that Cuff Studio will debut at ICFF. Lacquer draws on centuries of craftsmanship and aesthetic. With origins of pre 17th century in East Asian Lacquerware, early examples include bowls and vessels. Lacquer created an unparalleled level of depth, reflectivity and sheen — far beyond what paints could achieve. A polished, deep lacquered surface conveying quiet elegance and contemplation. When Asian lacquerware arrived in Europe, it quickly became associated with high-end furniture, decorative arts and architectural elements in aristocratic homes. Lacquer symbolized taste. Designer Eileen Gray had full mastery and understanding of lacquer. Her use of the complex medium was the result of much research and practice over the course of several years. She is one of few European artists from her generation to successfully master Japanese lacquer techniques and to grasp it with such artistic virtuosity. In the early to mid 20th century, for designers including Paul Poiret, lacquer became a shorthand in Art Deco and Streamline Moderne, emphasizing clean lines and sophistication. In Mid-Century and Minimalism, lacquer served as a powerful accent. We highlight contemporary designers including Valerie Name Bolaño for their bold yet restrained layering of lacquer in recent interiors projects.
