This portrait was taken a year back, before I left for college. In frame is Mahmuri, an Indonesian driver who shared his experiences around the jakarta roads for over 20 years.
āTell me, where is the road
I can call my own,
That I left, that I lost
So long ago?
All these years I have wandered,
Oh when will I know
There's a way, there's a road
That will lead me home?ā

"Mapping Time"
Fabric cut out, pen on paper
āOne's end becomes anotherās beginningā. Mapping Time visualizes my ways of perceiving time as objects and objects as memories.
As time passes, the occurrences in our surroundings tend to slowly fade from our perception. Time is a rather complex topic that can string on and on. From a young age, Iāve grown a habit of collecting things along my journeys. From small sized rocks, dried flowers, ribbons to jackets. These collections became a way for me to collect memories I value regardless good or bad.

Wires (19 gauge & 26 gauge)
A series of contour drawings done, executed through the medium of wires. Thick and thin, all sides are held together as one, conveying raw emotions we may have but kept unseen.
