Finally finished this chef for my good friend and brother @blades_by_ben
My dude Ben supplied the materials for this one and let me take the reins on stylization and I'm pretty stoked on how it came out being that it was my first time working with ZircuTi...
Blade is Mammoth twist from @bakerforgeandtool
Bolster is vintage gray ghost micarta from @hawksnestcustoms
And a special thank you to those who gave me some solid advice on working with ZircuTi. ๐๐

Just a look back at one of my favorite sets. This was a custom set that I made for Chef @jettila last year. The set was a 12" gyoto and a 6" petty both done in AEB-L Stainless steel at 61 hrc. On these I took the extra effort to do a hand-rubbed satin finish and convex grinds. The segmented scales were also hand made by me using a unique cherry blossom resin and a stabilized black ash burl. I couldn't be happier with the way these turned out. What do you think?
Are you going to be there? Come say hi and check out the new tools I am making specially for this show. New Chessmen, kitchen tools, and some special tools for the barbecue enthusiasts! I hope to see you there at Table 24U right next to my friends @jhuecustoms and @kandgfinishingsupplies
Can't wait to see all my friends very soon!
From the Chessmen Series we have the @crosspeinedforge โRookโ in Westinghouse Vintage Butterscotch Micarta and Ivory liners wrapped over a @salemstraub Damascus steel. I am so happy with Brents build and brown leather custom made sheath. He took the concept and did not disappoint!!! ๐ค Happy Sunday and stay Blessed!
The other day I decided I wanted to make a challenge coin for myself just to try it out. And I thought what better topic to design it around then the age old debate of "Law versus Grace" which is what I am calling this coin. I think that the book of John answers the question perfectly when it says that "the law was GIVEN by Moses, but Grace and Truth CAME through Jesus Christ." Because Grace and Truth are encapsulated in the person of Jesus through whom we have salvation. It shows that the law was something given as a tool or unit of measure to show that no one is perfect, and that no matter what we try of our own accord we can never fulfill the requirements of that law (Romans 3:10, James 2:10). It is only by the acceptance of the Grace and Truth that came into the world in the person of Jesus Christ that we are saved from the confinds and punishment of the law of Moses (Ephesians 2:8-9, II Corinthians 5:21). And that makes all the difference in the world. So which one do you follow? Law or Grace?
