My first time in Paris! My first time out of the states at all! Since this was a short trip for work I spent more time in the office than exploring but still managed to have a great time! A few highlights:
- seeing Tour Eiffel for the first time
- meeting up with
@mogwai15 and a bunch of great dancers like
@vicky._.t._ and
@ghostdiasse thanks to the guidance from
@deeps.rollerskate
- sharing zines and original songs and hearing from other songwriters @ La Cave Café Open Mic hosted by
@amykmusic and meeting
@james_h_jewell and
@chri.snewens
- feeling like I matched the style of the city with the great pieces styled for me from
@valhallatampa
- becoming a regular at a local cafe
@terresdecafe and grabbing lunch with friendly folks there
-
@tiah_bee helping me translate a song from english to french
- meeting colleagues that I’ve been working with remotely for years for the first time IRL
- every.single.thing I ate
- skating under the Tour Eiffel
- my friends and my vet making sure my sweet kitty Yo was taken care of after a health emergency
- stumbling upon a number of lovely shops and getting a new fountain pen
- getting international travel tips from
@chloehobbs_x who says I would love Berlin so its on the list 📝
- practicing my french language speaking and comprehension!!!
A lot of people complain about French people being rude but I think being polite/honoring cultural norms like greetings, please/thank you, and goodbye goes a long way. Everyone that I spoke to was patient and kind! I shared many smiles with people passing by and made connections I hope to revisit! I’ll be back again soon for work or leisure and take more time. Even more so -je prete voyager tout le monde! I’m ready to travel everywhere!
