We're back with another What To Do Instead of Calling the Police workshop - in two weeks' time in Lewisham. These are open to all but are aimed at people who *aren’t* abolitionists. ❤️🔥
We know that many of us cannot rely on the police to keep us safe- they often harm us psychologically and physically.
If you want to support our work and you live in South London, leaflet and wheatpaste your local area with flyers about these workshops (available in color and B&W, single sided or double sided) 🔥
Wherever you are, join - or start - a local Copwatch group and share our resources. If you’re in a position to, donate to us, to other abolitionist collectives, to people’s crowdfunders, to unhoused people you pass in the streets. We keep each other safe! ✊🏾
What to do instead of calling the police! 💥
Our new resource in collaboration with @copwatchnetwork is available via the link in the Copwatch Network and Global Majority Copwatch bios! This resource contains more information than this post and is available in two versions for accessibility. 🔥
There are also other resources in our bios including leaflets, bustcards + stickers. Share, print, discuss our resources with your friends, family, comrades, neighbours.❤️🔥
Physical copies of this resource and bustcards will be available (for free) at the next Global Majority Copwatch meeting on Wednesday 12th March @ the field (this meeting is Global Majority people only). Abolition in our lifetime! 🫶🏿
In yet another escalation of state surveillance and control, the police are rolling out 'Drones as first Responders (DFR)'.
DFR means police will dispatch drones fitted with facial recognition and thermal imaging software to the scene of a call to police within 2 minutes and immediately feed intelligence back to headquarters.
We already know that the police are racist; they’re now being further enabled by racist AI Technologies. Police and facial recognition tech have no place on our streets, at our borders, and certainly not in our skies.
Police and state surveillane will never be the answer, only we keep us safe.
❕Stay tuned @copwatchnetwork for further updates, and get involved in your local copwatch and antiraids groups❕
Infographic description: 7 images with a black and yellow theme and the copwatch network logo. There are various images on the slides including drones, facial recognition technology, Notting Hill Carnival, and a group of people/comrades holding a banner that says "protect your neighbours".

Borders Kill. It was never a metaphor, it’s what they were invented to do. This violence has been felt acutely by many living in Minneapolis, Minnesota recently. The border enforcement agency there (known as ICE) has once again been terrorising the residents of the city, thousands are being brutalised by an increasingly undisciplined white supremacist militia wearing badges of the state.
A couple of weeks ago, Renee Good, a queer white woman, decided to do something about the violence of a bordered world. She was executed by ICE in her car whilst trying to observe their activities. Her name joins an uncountable rolecall of the dead: a list which includes the 32 people who died in ICE custody in the US in 2025, and the 2 already this year.
Since the killing of Renee, Minneapolis has erupted in anger and rebellion against ICE, joining many such uprising against the agency’s activities across the US. Several of Minnesota’s unions and organising collectives have called for today - Jan 23 - to be a mass strike. We have hacked a number of bus stops across London today in solidarity with this call.
We express our solidarity with all those on strike in Minneapolis today, with all those facing an increasingly fascistic state repression in the cold of winter and deciding to do something about it together. We also express our solidarity with all those experiencing the brutal direct violence of the border in their own lives, be that people seeking a home in the USA, attempting to enter the EU and the UK via increasingly lethal means, or those attempting to make a life for themselves here in London, finding themselves increasingly threatened with deportation and dehumanisation.

🔊Every year, people from everywhere on the planet hold noisy demonstrations outside prisons on New Year’s Eve. 🔊
⛓️💥We do this to show all of those who’re locked inside that they’re not forgotten, and to demonstrate our commitment to a world without violence and punishment, to a world without prisons. No Justice No Peace. ⛓️💥
🎆 In honour of this tradition, we invite you all to Join us outside HMP Brixton, on Tuesday 31st December from 6pm. 🎆
🇵🇸This year the escalation against the Zionist entity has continued to erupt - the British Prison Estate now another front line of this struggle. The largest co-ordinated hunger strike in British Prisons in recent history is directly threatening the lives of a number of our comrades. 🇵🇸
❤️🔥We send our love to the strikers, currently being held on remand and facing trail after being linked to actions which cost Elbit Systems millions in damages.❤️🔥
🥁 Bring drums and speakers, your pots and pans to bash with a spoon, your musical instruments and most importantly, your friends! 🥁
Come and make some noise with us before heading on to your NYE plans. Let’s bring in this new year with solidarity and much more justice.

Last year, people across London came together to resist immigration raids, detention and forced removals to the former prison barge, the Bibby Stockholm.
After 18 months, the trials have now concluded and we can provide an update on the outcomes - and the incredible display of solidarity and support during that time: over half of the defendants were acquitted, with no-one receiving prison sentences, and the fundraiser has covered costs and fines for everyone who asked.
We collectively raised almost £20,000 to support people with their legal fees and the costs of going on trial. As of today, we have given out more than £19,000 (almost everything raised) to those who faced trial, to cover any costs they’ve incurred as a result. All donations and expenses paid are on the OpenCollective for transparency.
We are grateful to everyone who answered the anti-raids callouts last year, and to those who continue to respond to immigration raid alerts. Thank you to everyone who donated to, and shared the fundraiser, and to everyone who came to the trials in support.
The Government continues to dehumanise and humiliate migrants and refugees under the pretence of community cohesion. We know that people seeking asylum and those migrating to the UK are part of our communities.
As even more degrading sites are proposed for accommodating those seeking asylum in the UK, our communities will continue to rise up against this abuse of our friends and neighbours, and the continued scapegoating of migrant communities.
Together, we are powerful. There are more of us than there are of them.
Join your local anti-raids group, organise, and together we can disrupt the hostile environment and support those targeted by it.
Southwark and Lambeth Anti-raids need organising support. Please DM @slantiraids if you’d like to get involved, or find your local group - or start one. See antiraids.net for everything you need.
Right now, it’s also urgent to support the hunger strikers @prisoners4palestine .
FREE OUR FRIENDS!
Join us alongside @actiondetdep@blmuk@pymbritain@allafricanwomensgroup@sds_noborders_noprisons@freethefilton24@no_more_exclusions_abolition@da3m.support@kidsofcolourhq and MANY other grassroots organisations outside the Home Office on Monday 15th December at 6pm as we call for the release of Ibrahima Bah and ALL political prisoners, and an end to the laws and policies that continue to put our friends behind bars.
As Ibrahima reaches 3 years of his outrageous 9 and a half year sentence, an acute example of the injustice of the border system, we demand his freedom and an end to the policies and laws that put him and hundreds like him behind bars, or faced with violent deportation, detention, and border violence. This includes the over 100 friends in immigration detention in Britain who have been on hunger strike resisting deportation under Britain's deal with France.
We take this moment to unite this struggle with those of our comrades on hunger strike - many now in critical condition - imprisoned for taking action in solidarity with Palestine to end the genocide carried out by Israel with British support. Follow @prisoners4palestine for updates and more info.
Similarly, Ibrahima's case speaks to the ongoing imperialist and carceral violence of the capitalist British state - from the ongoing practices of extermination and extraction in Palestine, Sudan, Congo and around the world, exclusion at Britain's borders and those of its allies, and the racist and repressive policing of our communities and neighborhoods and criminalisation of Black and Muslim young people.
We are united in defiance of the politics of punishment and criminalisation, fighting for the liberation of our comrades behind bars and border walls!
It is our duty to win!
