๐น SOLIDARITY DAY ๐น
For this yearโs solidarity day we took over @projektsmcr for a day of fun and play.
We just wanted to show young people how much we care, and how much joy they deserve, as an act of solidarity to them. It was a beautiful intergenerational day, with young people ranging from 6 to 25! It was a privilege to watch everyone support one another, and we are hugely proud of all the young people for getting on a board or scooter and sharing joy or trying something new - even if there were a few falls!
A huge thanks to skate park staff for all their coaching, to the extra support staff we had join us, to @hennawithfatma for hosting one of our fun stations for young people to use, and to @tibetankitchenuk for the beautiful food as ever.
We had the best day!
Many pictures coming soon.
Calling again for donations to support Ibrahima and his family while he is imprisoned by the racist British state!
Ibrahima has been imprisoned since arriving to the UK in December 2022 as a teenager, following a traumatic journey in which multiple people drowned. Ibrahima was heralded by survivors as an 'angel' for his efforts to save them, but he has been scapegoated by racist governments and demonized in the media, and is now serving an outrageous 9 and a half year sentence in prison.
This cruelty is what the border looks like.
Please support however you can; we are severely lacking funds to continue supporting Ibrahima, to help him with clothes, food, and phone credit to speak to his family. We are also raising money to send to his family, with their only son behind bars thousands of miles away.
Please donate and share! Fundraiser link in our bio ๐๐๐
๐ซถ Youth Space ๐ซถ
Aafter reflecting on some community intervention, we discussed who we were proud of this week, before quickly jumping into games and food.
We continued to chat about programmes to watch that staff have obviously never heard of, basketball skills and sport politics, as well as our best recipes.

THE EVERYDAY AUDACITY OF POLICING
WE ARE NO LONGER SHOCKED.
This video was sent to us by a community member we support. The officers) came in the early hours of the morning, presented no warrant, did not leave any information, left and did not return (therefore we assume this wasnโt an urgent visit).
If they were authorised to force entry, they could. So all that is left, is a household concerned about why this officer is trying to access their keys as a means of entry in the middle of the night.
๐ต NGBA, NO JUSTICE, NO PEACE ๐ต
Tonight, community said to @ngbamanchester we are with you! As their appeals approach after a decade long fight for justice, we need more and more people to get ready to bear witness to a momentous moment in their journey.
We know the use of Joint Enterprise in Manchester is only getting worse, and whilst new families need support, we cannot forget those who have been fighting for years.
We win TOGETHER, and we thank NGBA for all they do!
๐ฃ SEGREGATION FOR A YEAR ๐ฃ
We are extremely concerned about one of The Manchester 10 who has been held in segregation for nearly one year.
In recent months, we have been trying to get more information, but even lawyers are being kept in the dark.
All we know, is that no one should ever be kept in segregation for this long (or at all). It is a deeply violent practice.
We are worried, and we are angry, and when we have more information, we will be back with action.

For young people of all backgrounds from across Greater Manchester.
As well as it being our duty to fight for young people, it is also our duty to bring young people joy!
See you there.
"Being there for their appeals for the Manchester 10... The love, and the families feeling that they're held and the strength they take from that... Hundred percent, the state despises it."
Big up @kidsofcolourhq@npolicemonitor@ngbamanchester and all the others building community love against state violence in Manchester.
