We are proud to announce that we have recently submitted a planning application for 17-19 Rochester Row, Victoria.
A core principle of the proposed development is to retain as much of the existing building structure and embodied carbon as possible while fully transforming the exterior and interior to meet current and future occupier needs. Our proposal re-positions and enhances the existing office by replacing the dated window bays, improving the reception presence, adding end of journey facilities to promote sustainable travel, and introducing tenant amenity space including a setback landscaped roof terrace. The scheme will provide best in class office space with sustainability at the heart of the brief, including circular economy and low-carbon principles, optimised energy performance with an all-electric system and renewable energy generation on site, an urban greening factor of 0.3 and other sustainability targets such as BREEAM Outstanding and Nabers UK 5 star for operational energy.

MWA have successfully obtained planning permission for our client @atlaspropco on our workplace project at 7 Northumberland Street, that went before Westminster City Council’s Planning Committee on Tuesday 21st March 2023.

The project takes a sustainable approach adapting the existing building and adding to it through appropriate extensions improving its overall appearance. The extensions create an additional 6,000 sqft of Class A office space.
Overall, the design was commended by Westminster and they stated that the new design would enhance the Trafalgar Square Conservation Area. The proposed additional massing will improve how the building sits in its context, mediating the transition in height between 5 The Strand and the locally listed townhouses at the top of Northumberland Street.

We worked with @minifiearchitects + @constructivetpm , providing structural design for internal alterations and construction of a new additional storey at 5th floor level using lightweight steel frame and timber infill. The new additional floor benefits from a new external terrace ☀️⠀
