💌 BROADMEAD, I HAVE FALLEN FOR YOU! 💌 Yours lovingly, The PhotoBusker! X The past few months I’ve been working with @compasspresents on their project called A Love Letter to Broadmead. It included me taking over their ‘gram and creating the visual identity, marketing and design of materials alongside photographing and filming the event! It’s been a beautiful project watch evolve from day one and feels like a truly special and moment changing event to be involved in. The idea was to breathe life into the city centre. As the project progressed we soon realised giving young people opportunities and places to be was a key theme. The feedback since the event has been outstanding and seeing all the smiles from something Team Compass, alongside a load of other amazing organisations, create was magical! It’s been truly emotional to see how it has affected so many folk in a positive manner. Essentially we took over two units in The Galleries for a month, @ujimaradio_official were given a place to show face and YP curated another space to include workshops and events including likes with Diaspora Festival. It all accumulated with an after hours party in the Galleries shopping centre. It was fun to get my design brain in action again and ultimately capture the joy and community feel that envelopes the project! Much love GP! What a month Ujima Radio had broadcasting from our pop up studio in Galleries in Bristol. Huge thank you to everyone who took the time to acknowledge my 8th anniversary of working at @ujimaradio_official this week! We have been so busy with this incredible project "Love Letter to Broadmead" which is all about encouraging people to enjoy our city centre. We have been broadcasting for all of April from a pop up studio in the @galleriesbristol Shopping Centre in Broadmead on the 1st floor next to Boots. We have had such an incredible time with so many iconic guests including @atcq And this Friday 1st May I'm going to celebrate in style with a FREE party whilst also broadcasting my show LIVE from 4-6PM kicking off 3.30pm and you are all invited to come! I'm so excited to have live performances from @alonestarsheeran (yes the cousin of @teddysphotos just imagine if he came too OMGI'd faint!), plus the iconic Bristol rapper @blacksmithmusic & reggae legend @dafuchaman plus no party is complete without @krazywordlife from The Wordlife Show plus @liza.bilal will be back. Once the show/party ends then the wonderful people at @compasspresents who have been the brains & driving force behind this incredible pilot project, will then lead everyone to @shredenhams to continue the party in style. I can't wait to be able to mark 8 years working at Ujima and 13 years of doing The Word as well as this groundbreaking project that's involved so many great organisations like @diverseartistsnetwork @strange_brew_briz @bristolballroomcommunity @sparksbristol @shredenhams & so many more, it's been a real honour to be part of it.
