19/04/26 Bude canal.
Starting off down the main basin of the canal I quickly realised there wasn’t any fish in the area so it was time to get on my feet. After walking for a good half hour to 45 minutes keeping a close eye on the water I got to the top. Lock and decided to take a quick water break. Out the corner of my eye I noticed some fizzing just dying off in the margin and it didn’t take me long to have some bait scattered on the spot and my size 6 dagger curve shank from @commandotackle lowered. A couple moments later the rod was off and I was hooked into this absolute canal Gem 💎 @eclipsebaits virus 🦠

Finally managed to get out and get a decent bend in the rod. It’s been a tough start to my year for many reasons and trying to focus on fishing had taken a back seat a bit. However a fantastic weekend @cranebrookfishery was just what was needed. After spending a while figuring out some spots, and deploying a few spinner rigs, 25lb commando zip wire boom and size 4 curve shank, baited with CC moore, frozen hemp, live system, and a Pineapple ultra on the business end soon got me this football shaped mirror and what a cool character he was. This week’s overnighter resulted in this stunning 25lb 06oz near fully scaled mirror.
While packing the gear away before work, I had the rod resting on the platform with the bail arm open. I noticed the line twitching from tight to slack and picked the rod up thinking it was probably just a tench. After gaining a bit of line, the fish made a huge right then left kite and straight away I knew it definitely wasn’t.
Not long after, this lovely mirror appeared out of the reeds and slipped over the cord.
The NEW “Shellfish” from @octopusbaits doing the business again — a single 15mm pop-up over boilie and pellet proving too much to resist.
Rig-wise, just my usual subtle spinner setup with a size 4 curve shank hook, all tackle from @commandotackle . Absolute confidence in that setup when it matters most.

After a nightmare of a spring several blanks and a few that got away it has finally came good with this 34lb 2oz

Quick day session as i was ment to of been at a different venue for 24hrs but getting to venue the carp was spawning so down to @thelakeatbarstonrestaurant for the day and didn't do to bad biggest of the bunch 2 smaller 1s also multiple lost fish at the net also I think I had 5-6 carp on the bank with losing about 4 carp also 2 double takes turned abit crazy but wasnt nothing big to write home about unfortunately

Had my first London Carp today in London as being a really nice one to had it on a leash clip system and using the modem carp life lead to get good drop on my rig @london_carplife had it using a spinner rig with a size 4 hook and a bright pink pop up. We had seen showing fish before hand and that we had chucked it over and with in about 10 minutes I was into my first carp put up a really good fight for what it size
