Running hundreds of miles with little sleep, navigating nonstop logistics, and hitting deep mental walls — the California Traverse showed
@colemueller8 what he’s really capable of.
Pushing through that kind of fatigue taught him that the mind quits long before the body does, and that real growth happens when you choose to keep going anyway.
Those moments reshaped how he thinks about work, relationships, purpose, and the kind of person he wants to be.
From Division I baseball to Ironmans, ultras, and HYROX, Cole has always chased the kind of work that asks for more. What started as a love for achieving his dreams turned into a daily practice of structure, discipline, and surrounding himself with people who show up the same way.
“Doing hard things on a daily basis calluses your mind. It builds mental toughness that carries over into every part of your life, especially when things get hard outside of training.”
Today, whether he’s chasing elite times in HYROX, logging all-day efforts, or going to work alongside like-minded athletes, Cole chooses hard things because they build him. They keep him moving forward. They connect him to a community that lifts each other up and sets a higher standard.
For him, doing hard things isn’t about the finish line. It’s about who you become on the way there — how you callus your mind, find out what’s in you, and stay on a path of constant growth. Hard things sharpen him, center him, and give his life purpose.
And he’s just getting started.
