FTP = Functional Threshold Power
This test measures the highest power output (average watts) you can hold for an extended period of time before your body starts cashing checks it can’t keep paying.
Take your average watts over 20 minutes and divide that number by your bodyweight in kilograms: a ratio of 4 is the target. Higher is even better.
It’s not glamorous.
But it matters because the number tells the truth.
It shows where your fitness actually is - not where you think it is, not where it used to be, not where you want it to be.
And once you know it, every workout becomes more accurate. Training stops being random and starts becoming intentional.
FTP days are uncomfortable… if you’re not lazy.
And they’re also one of the clearest reminders that progress is measurable AND earned.

Some of our athletes don’t have a fitness problem…
They have a racing too often problem.
Not every race is meant to be your peak performance.
You should have:
A Races – where everything is aligned, tapered, and you’re going ALL IN
B Races – where you’re practicing execution, learning pacing, and gaining experience.
What we see way too often is athletes treating every race like it’s the Super Bowl…
→ No real build phase
→ No proper recovery
→ No progression
Just constant output… and eventually, a plateau (or burnout).
If you want to actually improve:
You need time to train. Time to adapt. Time to get better.
Race less. Train with intent. Perform when it matters.
If you’re stuck in the cycle of racing every weekend (yes, your local Hyrox sim counts too) and not seeing progress… this is your sign.
Drop “RACE ” below and we’ll help you with your plan.
Getting closer to race day means locking in every detail.
One small mistake can cost minutes.
Most people train hard. Champions obsess over execution.

Aiming high doesn’t always mean hitting the mark.
Sometimes you train for a year and the day doesn’t go the way you wrote it in your head. The work isn’t in the win - it’s in what you do the next morning.
If you’re rebuilding from a season that didn’t land - comment COACH and let us walk it back with you.

Most people taper wrong…
Or don’t taper at all.
The 7 days before a race are the most important week of your training cycle. We built a guide that maps out exactly what to do.
Comment READY and we’ll DM it to you.
