This Friday we link up with @pregame___ and @cofunctionnyc for a night driven by live action and long-form flow. An infamous NYC live session takes the lead, backed by trusted local DJs who know how to hold the floor and keep things moving with intention. The night stretches deep into the morning, unfolding slowly and naturally all the way to 10am. Built for those who like to settle in, stay present, and let the music run its course.
+ CO/FUNCTION Co/Function is a NYC-based event series and collective focused on improvised live electronic music and audiovisual performance, creating spaces where live sets and real-time expression take center stage. It’s become a hub for experimental sound in intimate club settings, inviting both local and visiting artists to push beyond standard DJ formats.
+ ARMII1N Armii1n is an NYC-based DJ originally from Iran whose style emphasizes patience, flow, and deep, left-field selections shaped outside traditional club systems. He’s active in both the NYC and Miami underground scenes and runs his own parties, building sets that unfold organically and focus on long-form musical storytelling.
+ DLR DLR is a New York–based DJ trio blending classic Chicago house, groovy Italian basslines and UK broken beats into a cohesive, dance-driven style. Formed in 2022, they’ve become regulars on NYC underground bills, known for energetic, groove-anchored sets.
+ CHOUKROUN Timothe Choukroun is a Hong Kong-born, NYC-based DJ and producer whose cross-cultural sets fuse house, minimal and deep groove textures. Active in underground events since at least 2020, he’s featured across New York and Miami stages with dynamic programming that bridges styles.
+ ZAYD Beirut-born, NYC-based DJ and producer nodding to deep and minimal house from the ’90s, drawing inspiration from the vibrant club scenes of both his homeland and New York. His selections emphasize groove and subtle swing, resonating through local underground lineups.

JANUARY 23-24
This weekend unfolds across two distinct flows, each with its own energy but driven by the same intent. Friday leans into groovy house, minimal, and techno-touched rhythms built for long blends and easy movement through the night. Saturday shifts the focus toward a more techno-forward approach, sharper and more direct without losing depth. Different paths, same purpose — staying locked into the music from start to finish.

I honestly couldn’t have imagined that life would look so beautiful, surrounded by incredible and authentic friends, community, art, music. Life has felt like following the tumultuous river of time, and I find my body shedding fragments of colon!al conditioning with every bend: returning to root, embracing entropy, feeling belonging, and feeling endless gratitude.

Simultaneously, the undeniable dissonance of broadcasting personal joys on social media while society and the powers that be continue to fire their insecurities into innocent hearts has me a bit less active on here recently. But I am trying to keep in mind that our risk of complicity is in consumption: distracted, silent, fearful brains are unable to imagine a better world, unable to share, collaborate, commune.

We are all going to have to make tangible, collective, beyond uncomfortable decisions together as the world as we know it rapidly descends into a moral void. As scary as that is, I find the fear is quenched by conversations with the relentless, rooted spirits in your surroundings - animate and inanimate, organized and unorganized, stranger or friend - energetic exchange building our collective consciousness and metabolism as a super organism of earth and humanity.

Co/Function began three years ago as an experiment in my living room with @tj_mcau , @yandl.dylan & @robinterface - after the initial event we added @lauren_yoon on keys and became a sort of improv band doing around 10 shows together around New York. When we took Co/Function back to H0l0 we tweaked the format to allow us to invite other musical guests and have more flexibility and spontaneity with our sound. Now on this next 34th session, Wednesday, July 23 we are going back to the roots with the original lineup. It will be exciting to see how all our skills have evolved and what new sound might emerge from this session. Many of our past sessions are archived on our Co/Function SoundCloud.
