I honestly couldn’t have imagined that life would look so beautiful, surrounded by incredible and authentic friends, community, art, music. Life has felt like following the tumultuous river of time, and I find my body shedding fragments of colon!al conditioning with every bend: returning to root, embracing entropy, feeling belonging, and feeling endless gratitude.

Simultaneously, the undeniable dissonance of broadcasting personal joys on social media while society and the powers that be continue to fire their insecurities into innocent hearts has me a bit less active on here recently. But I am trying to keep in mind that our risk of complicity is in consumption: distracted, silent, fearful brains are unable to imagine a better world, unable to share, collaborate, commune.

We are all going to have to make tangible, collective, beyond uncomfortable decisions together as the world as we know it rapidly descends into a moral void. As scary as that is, I find the fear is quenched by conversations with the relentless, rooted spirits in your surroundings - animate and inanimate, organized and unorganized, stranger or friend - energetic exchange building our collective consciousness and metabolism as a super organism of earth and humanity.

mf.bloom is a Brooklyn-based producer and neuroscientist originally from the countryside of central Ohio. Drawing inspiration from both biology and video game music, mf.bloom solely uses Tracker hardware for production to create hard grooves with heavily glitchy, cerebral sounds.
Their music attempts to capture the dissonance of societal decay while maintaining the joy of dance and exploration of movement to the unusual or unexpected. While their sound doesn’t quite fit any classification, they derive sounds from jungle, drum n bass, breakcore, boom bap, and techno for a high tempo, footwork-heavy, punk experience.

Lately, I’ve been feeling a lot of transformation in my being, coming to terms with identity, vulnerability, and strength. Tattoos were once a rite of passage for many tribal Filipino warriors into adulthood, and I can feel an undeniable ancestral void seeing light by these marks.
