So yesterday, Ash, El and Vaishali have been representing COP at the #housesofparliament.
We were invited by Keep Britain Tidy for the official launch of the #greatbritishspringclean2026.
We met up with fellow ambassadors from across the country including Jason from @rubbishwalks , Sam Laywood from the Leicester litter wombles, Hannah from @meandtheplasticsea and Abby from #newquay amongst many others.
This is a great opportunity to meet other litter pickers from across the country but also with MPs, policy makers and businesses.
It was great to see @RebeccaSmithMP and George from @cleanup_uk .
If that wasn’t enough Ash and El had both been nominated for the Leading Litter Hero Award…and we only went and won it!!
This award maybe in Els name but it represents us all. Ash is an integral part of the background work as well as picking regularly and each and every Ambassador, volunteers and people that support in other capacities are a vital part of the #cleanourpatchfamily.
We all contribute to the amazing litter picking movement in the southwest. We are making plymouth and southhams a cleaner and better place to live and work.
We are so proud of each and everyone of you.

🇬🇧 Plymouth Armed Forces Day in association with #Babcock.
It was a great day to show support for the people who make up the Armed Forces community from currently serving troops to reservists, veterans, cadets and their families.
The day was packed with parades, displays, military equipment to check out, live performances in the arena, amazing air displays and so much more. It’s always a fantastic family friendly day out.
We were joined by the lovely Hannah from Me & The Plastic Sea (Torbay) and hardcore picker Tina. With Ash they cleared around the registry office like usual, the bushes have been cut back making the litter picking in that spot a tad easier. In total we found 62 used/ unused needles, a hammer, a bank card, several pairs of underwear and different items of clothing... nothing too surprising.
A few young cadets did a session of picking which goes towards their DofE awards they are working hard to complete and they did an amazing job.
Sam was in a fantastic mood as he’s been looking forward to fundraising for a couple months now so he did an incredible job raising funds with Rachel and encouraging people to check COP out on Facebook :D.
The lovely Megan and Pauline came to join El at the stall, spreading the word on how to get involved and just being their awesome selves.
We had a lovely chat with the Plymouth Lord Mayor Kathy Watkins, Lord Mayor’s Consort and Deputy Lord Mayor. We also saw Cllr Dylan Tippetts, Cllr Tudor Evans, Councillor Jemima Laing and it was a positive day all round.
It was a wonderful day all round and lots of positive engagement.
A big Thank You to Chris (& gang), Megan for lifts, help setting up, packing down etc. With Els wrist troubles and not being able to drive at the moment, we really couldn’t have done this without you <3.

☔️ Great to hangout with #LitterHeroes @beachguardian Emily, @action_nan (Pat) and @keepbritaintidy South West rep/ @oceanrecoveryproject Neil today.
We went for lunch at Pier One and then off we went to Jennycliff to do a #BeachClean - 1 bag cleared.
🚮 Amongst the usual dog poo bags and plastic cups we also found a shoe, a disposable bbq and a Victorian hand forged ships nail which has been donated to Beach Guardian for an upcoming project.
Thank you all for a great day out.

☀️ 2/8/24 - Great morning in #WestonMill with Ambassador Sally and #DevilsPoint Ambassador Sarah both out in force.
☀️ El joined Sally (which turned out well as the regular volunteers were unable to make it) they had a potter along Bridwell Road and found some bits dumped in the park including and electric toilet cistern and a loo seat 🤷♀️. 5 bags cleared plus the electric loo, a loo seat, a dvd player and a clothes horse.
☀️ Sarah was joined by 4 volunteers and they cleared 8 bags and found lots of disposable bbqs - please dispose of these properly as they are a huge hazard!
