“ODE to - Gwyn”,
“A Thousand Plateaus” and
“Fragements that Hold”
Three powerful ceramic exhibitions celebrating legacy, influence, and identity.
ODE – to Gwyn is a celebration of Queensland’s most beloved potter, Gwyn Hanssen Pigott OAM.
Twelve contemporary ceramicists respond to Gwyn’s enduring legacy, thoughtfully curated and presented in the quiet, contemplative style of a still life.
Gwyn’s deep love of form, function, and the still life genre left a lasting impression on generations of Australian potters.
An ode is a lyrical poem of varied length and style, often dedicated to a person or idea. In this exhibition, each artist work becomes a line in that poem, arranged thoughtfully in space, like verses in tribute to Gwyn.
