Beginning the long trek today (...iykyk) to #claygulgong2026 I'm so thrilled to have a piece selected for the Women Who Woodfire exhibition: 18 fabulous artists dedicated to this highly technical craft, who are producing beautiful works. It's an honour to be alongside so many talented potters and artists. And this wood-fired pomegranate will be coming along with me as well, to be part of the @clayschoolbrisbane Gulgong exhibition: a fantastic opportunity for us to exhibit as a community studio on a national stage! It's going to be a huge week! 🔥

I'm working on this new glaze, a pale yellow-white combination. This one has been through a wood-firing but it was a little under-fired so I re-fired in my electric kiln. And I'm absolutely stoked with the outcome! 😍

Day 4 and we are done!! After almost 80 hours of continuous firing, we closed up. Making sure that every crevice is patched up with slurry so no cool air can enter the kiln over the next week as it cools down. Thank you to the amazing team who made this Autumn firing not only possible, but so enjoyable. @studiosuvira @kiriko_ceramics @wintera @louise_pergomet @mandi_buri_ceramics @jennacatchpole.ceramics @gemmadavis.art Now the hard part…..waiting until Saturday week to open it up and see the magic that occurred. See you next week. 🔥🔥🔥#woodfiring #woodfiringkiln #womenwhowoodfire #woodfiringpottery #australianceramics

January is a busy time for me at work with all the new doctors starting. But I’m also taking some time to go back through last year’s best pieces, clean them up and photograph them (getting decent photos of my pots is the trickiest part for me!). This big girl is one of my Solidarity series but I’m loving the happenstance glazing from her berth in the firebox of the Middle Pocket Pottery kiln. Every side has something new to see 😍
