Clara Imbert

L’artiste Clara Imbert poursuit l’aventure de POUSH sur le nouveau site d’Aubervilliers qui réunit 270 ateliers en deux bâtiments. Diplômée de la Central Saint Martins, Londres, elle se saisit du métal dans une quête de l’imperfection autour d’un imaginaire lié à la science-fiction et l’astronomie, aux symboles universels, à la géométrie sacrée. Des artefacts qui dégagent une poésie particulière, une autre réalité aux confins de l’invisible. A l’invitation du 19M, situé proche de POUSH, elle a engagé une rencontre avec l’univers du fondeur japonais Suzuki Morihisa et des expérimentations inédites à partir d’un alliage entre la fonte dont il est le dépositaire depuis plusieurs génération et l’acier. L’exposition Beyond our Horizons de Tokyo à Paris retrace ces dialogues subtils entre un artisan et un artiste contemporain, autour de la thématique des 5 éléments, en l’occurrence le feu. Happy to share that some of my pieces are currently on view as part of the collective exhibition « Latente Science: Telepathy in the shadows » at Hermit Space Space in Beijing curated by Iris Long. « The exhibition Latent Science: Telepathy in the Shadow contemplates this subtle, ever-shifting technicity of the psyche, probing how scientific discourse has both expanded and complicated the cultural significance of telepathy. It asks how such a notion, long dismissed or rendered spectacular, might instead suggest new possibilities for experiencing the world—through the reactivation of occluded senses, the extension of perception, or the redefinition of what it means to feel across distance. This is a form of mutual attunement that operates beyond the visual field, beyond the retinal, premised not on certainty but on subtle interferences and tacit recognitions.  […] Within the exhibition, this sensibility is modulated through three interrelated frequencies or dimensions: the reception and calibration of the sky as an electromagnetic field; the reading of geological substrates—rocks, sediments, cavities, and minerals—as latent carriers of signals; and the crafting of perceptual strategies that disrupt causality and resist linear temporal regimes. » @hermit_space_ @xingru_longiris @zhongyuan_zhang.art 📷 KaiHu@AGENTPAY @hermit_space_

Très heureuse de présenter mon installation ‘Search for Absence’, visible au Chateau La Coste jusqu’au 9 Juin 2025. « Installée dans le bassin de l’Auditorium Oscar Niemeyer, Clara Imbert présente un ensemble de quinze antennes en acier, récepteurs sensibles qui semblent capter et retransmettre les échos invisibles de leur environnement. Last week, I visited my dear friend @divinesouthgate_smith in London. She has been keeping and taking care of a piece I made for my degree exhibition, while we were students at CSM. I hadn’t seen since and it brought back many memories. It feels like it found it’s place in her beautiful home. 🔭✨

In July, I was invited to the Open Studio residency program at Fonderia Battaglia. During one month, I learned the process of lost-wax casting. After melting, shaping and modeling the wax, it was then casted in bronze. It was a beautiful experience, and I am very grateful to the wonderful team for sharing their knowledge. @fonderia_battaglia
