What a meaningful and powerful experience this was!💕 ✨I thought I was just going to get a cast made of my breasts in support of @keepabreast , and I was so honored to be invited. I knew I would be matched with an artist who would paint the cast and that the pieces would later be shown in an art exhibit in September. 💕Somewhere in the process, I uncovered and healed body shame I didn’t realize I was still carrying, and I connected to an expansive depth of self-love. The kind of self-love that emerges when you realize you are supported by a legacy of sisterhood spanning 26 years of women embracing breast health, reclaiming their bodies, and standing in empowerment. 💫I walked away with unexpected gifts of healing & joy. There was beautiful medicine offered up in this experience, and I’m so grateful to have been a part of it. 💕Thank you @shaneyjo , for your vision and fierce advocacy for globally accessible breast health & awareness. We just completed the first 7 castings for this year’s @keepabreast High Desert Collection. Every cast tells a story. Every woman said yes to something bigger than herself. It’s an honor to hold space for these moments and to witness, to listen, and to turn these experiences into something that can educate and support our community. These pieces are now heading out to local artists who will transform them in their own way, building on the already beautiful art that each person’s body is. Later this year, they’ll be shown for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This project is about more than art and boobs. It’s about connection, prevention, and making sure our small desert community has access to breast health education that can truly save lives. Thank you to these incredible women for trusting us. La Matadora Gallery sure packed a punch last Saturday! Thank you to the artists, DJ La Cosmica, & the community at large for being part of it. Desert Dagger art show lived up to its name with its sharp sociopolitical commentary & powerful images. From Leonard Harmon's "'Savage' to Citizen" series to Carlos Ramirez's anti-corporate art & Molotov Cocktails to Michael Hurst's collages of Hummels with dueling "Mensur" scars...my words barely scratch the surface. Easter traditions were super sweet this year including Easter Pie chef team with @kimibalanced and special hangs with the @striking_differences crew! Y’all made my heart grow ten times its size! Didn’t take enough photos on my phone but the smiles say it all 🤩

An exciting twist for this year’s open call, CHIRP! The Birdhouse Show is that several couples have creatively submitted delightfully dueling dual creations. Goat is pleased to present the first of these fascinating couple entries: the birdhouses designed by the talented duo, Clair @claircase and Matthew Case @lugjunkie It’s intriguing to see how each artist has interpreted the directive in uniquely inspiring ways, resulting in works that both complement and contrastingly challenge each other. Both birdhouses are made from repurposed materials. Clair’s submission, The Bower Bird Lair, utilizes remnants of textiles and other soft materials to fashion a cozy structure. In contrast, Matt incorporated cut and reassembled razor blades, crafting a design that offers anedgy, slightly menacing qualit. The Razorbill Cottage, has humorously been dubbed an ideal home for flies. We invite you to visit Landers and the picturesque high desert to experience CHIRP! The Birdhouse Show, is an exhibition filled with joy that our world wholeheartedly needs. Great night at our 150th Desert Bingo last night - we raised $1050 for Keep a Breast and had a blast! Prizes were fabulous - thank you to the Keep a Breast crew for making that happen! Congrats to all the winners - you have now enjoyed an elite group of folks who accomplished greatness on pure luck alone! 😜 We’re over the $10K mark for funds raised this year! Good job everyone! We’ll be back next week Monday, March 30 with another awesome night of Desert Bingo fun!

I found some art by @claircase on Art and Found day in the town of Joshua Tree, CA. I decided to take it out to the Heart of Darkness Corridor in Joshua Tree National Park. It’s a really cool corridor with an epic crack climb hidden inside. I was here 7 yrs ago and the climb was way too hard for me then. Decided to come back on this trip and leave the art there. (Also I totally crushed the climb this time around) I’m just helping the art along on its adventure to its final destination.
