Imagine getting asked to have your breasts casted for a nonprofit breast cancer foundation here in Joshua Tree… at an artist studio surrounded by an agave farm.
And in that space, getting to talk about why you choose to do areola restoration work with someone whose path is also rooted in both art and helping others.
I got to experience that. And I’m forever grateful for the conversation, the vulnerability, and the space created by such beautiful artistic women within this community.
Moments like this remind me how deeply connected art, healing, and human connection really are.

We just completed the first 7 castings for this year’s @keepabreast High Desert Collection.
Every cast tells a story. Every woman said yes to something bigger than herself.
It’s an honor to hold space for these moments and to witness, to listen, and to turn these experiences into something that can educate and support our community.
These pieces are now heading out to local artists who will transform them in their own way, building on the already beautiful art that each person’s body is. Later this year, they’ll be shown for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
This project is about more than art and boobs.
It’s about connection, prevention, and making sure our small desert community has access to breast health education that can truly save lives.
