It’s an honour to be part of the @reykjavikfilmfestival Talent Lab this year and to spend a week with such a talented group of filmmakering peers. I feel lucky to have met such lovely people, and to be able to now call them my friends. Humbled to have been in the presence of Bong Joon Ho and Athina Tsangari, directors at the top of their game who remain disarmingly approachable and kind. Thank you to @olafdefleurjoh for encouraging us to embrace our imperfections. And thank you most of all to @amalia.jessen , who worked tirelessly to care for us throughout the week.
Thank you all. Much love to my RIFF family ❤️
Newfoundland with the @sonofacritchtv team for Season 4. Endless thanks to @p10prod and Hawco Productions for having me on set as Director Shadow. Thank you to the kindest and most generous cast and crew! I feel lucky to have been part of the Critch family, if only for just a little.
Hugely grateful to @directedbysho and @thejaninesquires for getting me to St. John’s, and shout out to @jawnyvee for letting me hover over your shoulder and watch you work your magic.
Finally… THANK YOU @critchmark for casting the legend that is @malcolm_mcdowell , who I could not help but be shy with when we met. Clockwork! Caligula! What an icon.
Full of gratitude. Thank you to the Academy for the award for “Best Direction, Web Program or Series,” and endless thanks to the village of people - cast, crew, PR, and many more - who brought our series to the Canadian Screen Awards.

Back in the UK 🇬🇧 It’s so lovely to have FISH BOY as part of Queer East this year (and on the front of the programme no less? So cool!) Also, *chuffed* to be screening alongside literal icons @tsai_ming_liang and @subwayalice . Thank you so much to the entire @queereast team.
Red carpet and a picket: a perfect weekend in LA. Thank you to @nfmla for welcoming us and our little fish film, and thank you to the hard-working folks at @writeinclusion and everyone participating in the strike.
We’re overseas and coming home: #StreamsTheSeries is an Official Selection of this year’s T.O. WebFest, Minnesota Webfest, and Apulio Webfest in Italy 🇮🇹 Thank you to the fests. Grateful for this story to continue making waves and excited to be playing in Toronto. See you in the fall!
Grateful for our friends at @representasianproject . Thank you to the whole team for featuring #StreamsTheSeries, and thank you Sadaf Ahsan (@canadawhore ) for the write up 🙏🏻

“Directed by Chinese Canadian writer-director Christopher Yip (@christophersyip ), the emotional six-part short-form series Streams Flow from a River is sure to feel familiar to many children of Asian immigrants, particularly those who have often straddled East and West cultural lines, and watched their parents struggle to build a home in a new place.
The series touches on a variety of issues, including abuse, neglect, alcoholism, sexuality, and what it means to be a family. The director’s hope is that it will further these conversations between Asian families watching at home, and serve as a reminder that “we can be on the same page, it doesn’t have to be a fight…we can move towards healing.”
Streams Flow from a River is now available to stream in Canada on @superchanneltv , Apple TV and Amazon Prime.”
