we were in need of a refresh so… WELCOME TO THE NEW AND IMPROVED @representasianproject ! 🎉🎉🎉 Since we launched in 2019, we’ve evolved into a media platform that not only spotlights Asian representation, but also celebrates the full spectrum of the Asian North American experience: from confronting social issues like racism, identity and belonging, to enjoying the joys of fashion, food, beauty and pop culture. You can still expect the same great content you’ve seen here on social, along with an updated website (👀) and a freshly-launched newsletter which will feature subscriber-only content (if you’d like to sign up, comment NEWSLETTER for the link!) Thank you to every single one of you for being here with us all these years. We love you 🫰🏼 - Team RepresentASIAN Project (P.S. if you wish to support our mission via financial contribution, hit the link in bio. These contributions will help us continue to create content for the Asian North American community, as well as help fund the tools and services we need to run our platform).

What happens when the next generation inherits more than just a business? Introducing GENERASIANS, a docuseries by @representasianproject in partnership with @eyedot.to spotlighting Asian Canadian family businesses at a pivotal turning point: succession. As one generation prepares to pass down what they’ve built, the next must decide how to carry it forward — balancing legacy, identity, innovation and growth. Through intimate storytelling, GENERASIANS explores the unspoken expectations, financial pressures and evolving ambitions that shape generational transition. Because inheritance isn’t just about a business — it’s about legacy. Series premieres March 22nd at 8pm EST on RepresentASIAN Project™’s YouTube (linked in bio). As May is both #AsianHeritageMonth and #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth, we’re excited to announce the launch of @representasianproject ’s non-profit arm, The Blossom Mental Health Fund (@theblossomfund ). The Blossom Mental Health Fund is a registered non-profit focused on supporting the mental health of Asian Canadians. Asians are less likely to access mental health services compared to other ethnic groups, due to cultural stigma, lack of culturally competent care and discrimination. Our mission is to destigmatize mental health within Asian diasporic communities by creating mental health content and resources that reflect cultural nuances and by providing grants to those facing financial barriers to therapy. Our team is made up of Asian Canadian mental health professionals, content creators and editors, all of whom have personal experiences with mental health, and who are committed to raising awareness of mental health and wellness in the Asian community. We believe in the power of storytelling—how it can bring us together, provide a sense of community and belonging, and remind us we are not alone. The Blossom Mental Health Fund is a space to collectively come together to share our experiences and work towards growth in healing. This is where OUR stories bloom 🌸. Click the link in bio to learn more and donate to the fund at bit.ly/theblossomfund 🌸

Why do so many Asian households struggle to talk about mental health? For many of us, silence isn’t just avoidance; it’s a form of survival, protection, duty and “saving face.” Mental health conversations are deeply shaped by culture, immigration, intergenerational trauma, collectivism and the pressure to maintain harmony over vulnerability. But this doesn’t necessarily mean Asian cultures are “wrong”. Collectivism can foster empathy, community, resilience and care for each other. But when emotional expression is stigmatized, many people learn to suppress their needs to protect the group. But healing doesn’t have to mean abandoning culture—it can look like creating space for both community and individual well-being. —— @theblossomfund  is the registered non-profit arm of @representasianproject  dedicated to supporting the mental health of Asian Canadians through mental health content and resources that reflect cultural nuances. For Asian Heritage Month and Mental Health Awareness Month, we’ve rounded up books by Asian authors that explore identity, inter generational trauma, belonging, healing and mental health through both personal stories and clinical insight. At @theblossomfund , we’re committed to opening up honest conversations around mental health in Asian communities through storytelling, education and accessible resources. These books reflect the depth, complexity and nuance of Asian experiences that are often missing from mainstream convos about mental health. —— @theblossomfund  is the registered non-profit arm of @representasianproject  dedicated to supporting the mental health of Asian Canadians through mental health content and resources that reflect cultural nuances.
