This month in Ask TTIE, a writer asks - “With all the challenges in the industry and beyond, I am struggling to stay motivated. Since it’s still the New Year, what are your thoughts on resolutions? How do you continue to stay motivated with or without them? What are some helpful and unhelpful resolutions you’ve made as a writer, especially in this moment of uncertainty?” ➡️➡️Swipe through to see reponses from our cohort of TV writers. With two weeks left, we’re at nearly $7,000 of our $10,000 goal — and this is the moment where each gift matters most. Every dollar brings us closer to sustaining TTIE’s programs into 2026, and all donations are tax-deductible. Please consider giving; we promise to make the most of your donation. A big THANK YOU to everyone who’s already donated: you’ve buoyed our spirits and made us confident that we can hit our goal! We spoke with @prismreports before the troubling Netflix bid was accepted, and it was published before the latest Paramount bid was made this morning. Things are moving quickly, but the underlying reality hasn’t changed. Writers and creatives are facing heightened uncertainty as corporate consolidation accelerates — no matter who ultimately emerges on top. TTIE supports those organizing for creative autonomy, fair labor standards, and resistance to censorship. These concerns don’t disappear when the names change.

This Giving Tuesday, we’re kicking off a campaign to raise $10,000 by December 31—and we’ve already raised $3,000! Audiences’ desire for authentic, inclusive stories hasn’t changed—but the willingness to invest in them has. TTIE ensures writers, showrunners, and executives still have the tools to deliver. Our 5th Behind the Scenes report has been downloaded 250+ times. Writers are using our data to strengthen negotiations. Our #WriteInclusion Factsheets are in use across sectors and internationally—wherever people are working to tell stories that get it right. Donate Now at Writeinclusion.org/Donate

After 9 years, 5 Behind the Scenes Reports, 20+ factsheets on accurate and authentic storytelling practices, and countless community events, trainings, panels, and workshops, we’re coming to you for help: we need to raise $50K by March 15th to keep our lights on.  Please consider donating and sharing this request with your networks. As writers, we’re used to asking WHY NOW? Our funding has been cut by 50%; we’re a casualty of our current political climate and the deep cuts in diversity and inclusion support. Tax-deductible donations may be made at writeinclsuion.org/donate or at the link in bio.  Thank you for your time, attention, and efforts to support us, particularly when we know that many of us are struggling to stay afloat. In solidarity, All of us at TTIE

This milestone wouldn’t be possible without our incredible crew of volunteers who power this work, and the TV writers who generously take the time to share their experiences with us. Most importantly, none of it would mean anything without industry allies like you—people who are curious, committed, and ready to learn more about how together we can make the change we all seek.

TTIE and Horowitz Research is proud to the launch the 5th Behind the Scenes: The State of Inclusion & Equity Report. Over 700 professional TV writers shared with us their experiences working in writers rooms and in development. Our report includes data-driven analysis from our research partner making the business case for DEIA best practices. The diverse, authentic stories audiences crave depend on supporting the historically excluded writers who can tell them. When systemic barriers block these writers’ career advancement and creative freedom, the industry loses both the stories and the viewers.
