We’ve spent the last month or so putting together the new UK & Ireland tour of Buddy, opening last week at the Birmingham Hippodrome and now officially on the road. The cast are just fantastic - so talented, humble, incredibly hardworking and overwhelmingly positive - and I have had SUCH a blast working with them to create a show that really sounds sensational and showcases their brilliance. I saw the show for the first time since the 90s on the first night and I bawled my bloody eyes out with how fantastic it and they were. I’ve adored Buddy for most of my life, so I can’t tell you the honour it has been to hold the reins this time. Huge thanks to all of the cast, creatives and crew who have made the process a dream. Special mentions to my brilliant number 2 Ewan Ling, an absolute fireball of a player and a monster musician, and to my old Buddy AJ Jenks, who I think is low-key giving the performance of a lifetime.
