『속삭임의 도시, 도둑들의 집』은 도둑을 주제로 한 13편의 단편을 모은 작품집입니다. 2021년, d / p(
@dslashp ) 공간에서 열린 전시 《우리 같은 도둑들》을 위해 크리스 로는 ‘도둑’이라는 주제에 대한 탐구를 시작했습니다. 소설과 영화에서 흔히 볼 수 있는 화려하게 미화된 도둑이 아닌, 우리 주변에 항상 존재하는 도둑들에 관한 이야기입니다. 미묘하고, 사소하며, 모호한 범죄를 저지르는 도둑들, 그렇기 때문에 법으로 처벌하기 거의 불가능합니다. 크리스는 오랫동안 재현의 개념과 기법에 관심을 가져왔으며, 때로는 재현의 방법을 이용해 재현 불가능한 것들을 만들어내기도 했습니다. 이 책은 지난 5년간 집필된 단편 소설 모음으로, 크리스 로의 추상적 시각 작업과 개념적으로 연결되면서도 오직 텍스트와 글쓰기만이 전달할 수 있는 이야기를 담고 있습니다.
이 책은 곧 서울 시내 서점에서 만나보실 수 있습니다. 출간 기념으로 망원동 XXPRESS(

@chris_____ro ) are pleased to announce the publishing of the book, Of Whispers, Of Thieves. Of Whispers, Of Thieves is a collection of 13 short stories around the subject of thieves. In the year, 2021, for the exhibition, Thieves Like Us at the space, d / p(
@dslashp ), Chris Ro began an investigation into the subject of thieves. But not the thieves we commonly see glamourized in fiction and film. More so, the thieves that surround us everyday. The subtle, the minimal, the vague thieves whose crimes are almost unpunishable by law. Chris has long had an interest in the concept and techniques of reproduction and sometimes using the methods of reproduction to produce things that are irreproducible. This is a collection of short stories that have been written over the past five years that connect conceptually to the abstract visual work of Chris Ro and yet tell narratives that only text and writing can tell.
The book will soon be available at bookstores around Seoul. For the launch of the book, there will be an exhibition + popup + installation + 24 hour, peopleless bookstore at XXPRESS(

Improvisation is one of the subjects that has been a source of great joy and conflict for so many years. ...I absolutely love it.. yet.. there are so many things.. that I still am so curious about..Yesterday, I experienced undiscovered/unexperienced sensations during the improvisation workshop conducted by the celestial Okkyung Lee(@okkyung_lee). For a few minutes, there was this tension in the room that was undeniable... And I felt like myself and two others were levitating simultaneously... And this improvisational rhythm was what kept it going and we were trying to maintain this tension and balance just to keep flying.. It was ethereal.... And I will always remember this!..I will not be doing such a remarkable workshop.. But I will be exploring this subject with the methods that I love....Working from the stomach..Working from our guts.. Thinking through the hands...
