LOOK 3 ✨
Weizdhurm Franklyn’s interpretation of this year’s Met Gala “Fashion is Art” theme for the AMVCAs, a striking fusion of Nigerian carved wood artistry and a fully hand-stoned Swarovski crystal body of work.
A piece where heritage meets couture; sculptural, intricate, and unapologetically theatrical 🤎✨

Like a phoenix, I rise 💙
The devil tried it… but God said NO. 🙏🏽✨
I’m still so grateful for all the prayers, love, and well wishes during my downtime. I do not take it for granted!

I was going to leave these clips on my Snapchat… but that would’ve been a disservice.
A disservice to history.
A disservice to truth.
A disservice to every voice that was silenced.
So I’m putting this here, for my global audience, because these stories are not just stories… they are lived experiences that were buried, ignored, and never fully told.
This is our Nigerian history. Raw. Unfiltered. Uncomfortable. Not to spark up a debate but to recognize truth.
Some of these slides carry trauma.
Some expose the real genesis of Igbo stereotypes.
So ask yourself honestly…
Are we aggressive… or are we a people shaped by war?
Are we money driven … or are we products of survival?
Is it distance … or is it inherited PTSD?
As one of the panelists and culture curator Obi Asika said, true reconciliation can only come through empathy. And empathy can only come from truth.
So please Swipe… (from slide 5)
It might heal you.
It might shake you.
But it will open your eyes. 🙏🏽
Thank you aunty @ceciliaumoren for this incredible book and to my dad @chibikokwu and all other contributors, for keeping our history alive 🙏🏽❤️

The truth is, history didn’t end… it was just never fully told.
“When the Guns Fell Silent” by Dr Ceceilia Umoren is not just a book, it is a living archive of real experiences from the Nigerian Civil War.
Stories of survival, loss, and strength.
Having my father, Chief Agunze Ikokwu’s story documented, and being able to read a part of it, was deeply personal for me.
It felt necessary.
There were people in that room in their 50s who were only just learning about the war.
It made me realise how much has been buried, how many narratives have been shaped by pain, and how much of what we see today is rooted in survival.
The panel was heavy… filled with trauma, wisdom, and truth.
A reminder that silence does not equal healing, and that history must be told by those who lived it.
The trauma was loud. The need for healing, even louder.
More stories like this need to be told.
More voices need to be heard.
It was an honour to lend my voice to something so important, so honest, and so necessary. 🤍
P.s - What’s a story from your family’s experience that was never told but you wish to share? 🙏🏽🍀
