Watching this made me realize how far this little dumpling idea has come. There were so many moments I questioned myself or thought about backup plans… but somehow and most fortunately every version of Plan B still involved dumplings 🥟 Food became one of the ways I learned how to connect to my family, my culture, my childhood and eventually myself. What started as making dumplings slowly became storytelling, creativity, connection and a way to share all the things I couldn’t always put into words. 18 seats. 13 courses 🥟 so grateful to our friends @karsondining for borrowing their beautiful space to bring this unique experience to life last week! Last year, what started as an idea to share unique dumpling bites with people somehow turned into this…a room full of strangers gathering around one table, connected through food and stories. Along the way, this experience made me think deeply about what does food mean to us and even asking myself: what truly is a dumpling? To me, it’s more than tradition. It’s memory, culture, creativity, comfort, curiosity, connection and all the above…wrapped into one intentional perfect bite. Each course in this omakase is my way of telling a story of past and present through technique and flavor. It’s so crazy to think how much this little idea has grown and the team we’ve built!
