Made 4,000 dumplings 🄟 for the Disney Emmy Party — feels like I just woke up from a really realistic dream ✨ Not just because I was on autopilot (running purely on adrenaline) but because it was one of the biggest events I’ve ever executed. There were moments I thought we wouldn’t finish on time, or when last-minute changes hit… but thoughts aren’t the truth. Everything did eventually come together :) The most memorable part? My community. I might have the dumpling brains, but it was the people who pulled together that made this happen…people who trusted me, and reminded me to trust myself. Like when I desperately posted on stories for last minute help because I wasn’t sure we could knock out 600 dumplings the day before 🤣 and the BaoBae fam showed up. I’m so lucky. 🄹 I’m reminded that: ✨ I have incredible people in my life ✨ Asian food and DUMPLINGS RULE ✨ I’m actually a pretty dope businesswoman (even if I still wanna be baby 🤪) ✨ And most importantly… I finally have patience for myself Because when you trust yourself (through the good or the messy )you’ll always end up where you’re meant to be, simply because you stayed true. Patience and trust is the answer to this dumpling path (Literally the two things you need to master dumpling making, lol)

One of the biggest reflections we got from our teams first time at the @nationalrestaurantshow is that despite being in the chaos of being the the food business. The people always pull through. We heard this loud and clear at the Strategic Branding and PR: Driving ROl Through Emotional Connections and Quality Excellence. Industrial leaders coming together to share their knowledge šŸ’› Community is everything. We wouldn’t have this business if we didn’t have our teammates, customers and culture. Food and community goes hand in hand. The most expensive ingredient in our dumplings? Not the pork. @thebaobae started as a personal project of mine. It was a platform for me to share my love of cooking when I was in pivotal time of my life after quitting my corporate finance job. After 2 years I want to give you guys a bittersweet update šŸ™‚ - @chefbaobae In the Beginning, I had no idea it will be where it is today. I didn’t exactly know how or when it was going to happen but I just knew. And so…the more I did, the more I failed, the more I learned, and the more I trusted; things naturally began to fall into place. Along the way, I realized @thebaobae is also a personal journey of mines. As Bao Bae grew, so did I and that’s why sometimes it’s hard for me to let go of my baby. The Bao Bae enabled me to start a life that brought me all of the opportunities I would’ve laughed at if you told me 2 yrs ago (humble brag lol) As nice as it seems on the outside I’ve never felt so busy and lonely in my adult life. But I’ve also been fortunately blessed to meet other successful friends who are more than willing let you join their journey. To allow our community to grow and be less lonely. So thank you so much for those who has been with me since the beginning. Those who took my first dumpling class in my apt, my first job as a line cook, first time teaching people, cooking ā€œprofessionallyā€ etc. and it’s time for me to take a new step in my journey! After thorough contemplation, you guys know that I LOVE feeding you, but it’s been unrealistic for me to continuously do popups without a consistent team. Majority of my time is used to find help, train, and prep and it’s bc I only want the best food for you guys! No dumplings are ever or can be frozen!! but this kind of lifestyle had refrained me from working on other love ā¤ļø projects and really taking a breath šŸ§˜šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø With that said!! Bc @thebaobae has always been a personal journey of mines, I hope you can join me @chefbaobae as I continue to cook! Today is the first day of 2022. Tbh, it doesn’t feel much different maybe bc 2021 was yesterday. But when I look back at the entire year. I don’t think I would’ve ask for anything more or less. I love New Years bc I know for a fact that each year will always be better than the last. Sounds cliche but despite these tough times… it definitely allowed me to grow and experience life the way it’s suppose to. Behind the smiles and laughter. I see a community all tirelessly working their butts off and making the best of any situation. So I thank you for letting me be part of that. Because I believe the only way for true success it to have those around you win as well 🄺 From these few selected photos (Instagram only allows 10) shows how grateful I am for 2021. The year that gave me opportunities to experience, grow and grace me with so many amazing people! Thank you for allowing me to do what I love ā¤ļøand most of all I’m thankful for myself :) So let 2022 be the year we all love ourselves more, support one another so we make every year the year! Sheng Jian Bao Wassup! Have you tried these Shanghainese style Panfried Soup Dumplings before?? There are many different types but Shanghainese ones are made with a half part yeast dough. Freshly made (no shortcuts- never frozen) to give you those thin tops but thick, crunchy bottoms 🤤 Imagine them being small dumpling cups. Ya know to make the soup slurping process easy! They’re available exclusively at my @thebaobae popups and one of a kind ē”Ÿē…ŽåŒ… sheng jian bao recipe/technique I’ve worked constantly in the past year. But unfortunately due to other food projects and realizing BaoBae popups are unrealistic (high demand but a 1 person team making fresh dumplings) I’m reducing the time spent on BaoBae.
