@archdigest recently featured this Lake Flato project that I photographed last summer. I’d followed along with the progress of this house as it was being constructed atop a gentle hill out in far West Texas-- and as a long time enthusiast of architecture in that part of the world was so thrilled to be asked to shoot it. Generally speaking, I think the story of any house could be well told in about 12 photographs, but with the breadth and detail of this project it was particularly difficult to edit it down to 8.
As some of you may know, for the first time in my career I took some self directed time away from shooting over the past two months to spend with our new son, Jack. It's been both a break and also a great challenge, but I feel so grateful to have had the time and I feel as ready as I’ve ever been to start a new year. I’m hoping and looking forward seeing so many of you again soon in 2022.
Thanks so much to
@lakeflato and
@archdigest for the assignment and placement. As always, a BIG thank you to
@kaylynn_jaycox for her help with styling this shoot.
