@thehappywoodworkingswede and I have had the biggest recording week for two different games.
Firstly with the wonderful Nordic Vocalists (with some members of the Swedish Radio Choir) conducted by Patrik Moberg Sandin, and recording engineered by Daniel Rosenqvist at Ersta Kyrka in Stockholm. We zoomed in from Sydney in the middle of the night, with our incredible interns
@Anton Elison and
@Henriette Flach on the floor in Stockholm being our extra eyes and ears.
And then in Sydney we wrapped the last chapter of Valheim and recorded a whole new project with
@michaeldixon and
@freyashackarnott at
@brandxstudios . I’m so happy to have gotten to co-compose with Patrik on some of the Valheim tracks for this last update, and I’m SO EXCITED for when we can share them. I’m also EXTREMELY EXCITED to share more about the new project when we can.
And THEN in a couple of weeks we’re recording the string ensemble from
@orchestravictoria , flautist Anna Cooper, and
@miles_david_sione on trumpet which I am unbelievably excited for!
It feels like bucket list tick one after another after these months of working so closely with Patrik. I’m so thankful that 5 years ago he took me on as a student, and now we’re here as co-lead composers at Solid Sounds. He’s one of the biggest mentors in my life, and honestly one of the few teachers I’ve had where I really felt like they had so much faith and belief in me. It’s such a treat to have gotten to work on Valheim and this new project with him, and now to also be mentoring up and coming composers
@antonelison and
@henriette_flach who have worked so hard alongside for the past couple of months as part of their practice.
I just love getting to do what I do as part of a team and a community. Seeing what actual musicians give to the music we write is just such a great reminder of why people are irreplaceable in the creation of art, and it’s such a privilege to work to make something beautiful in this world with others. Thank you so much to everyone involved, and I can’t wait to share it when it's all done. Yay!!!
